2022 Winnebago View Furnace

Hi all!

New owner of a 2022 Winnebago View and besides some of the “new owner” quirks.

Here's the issues and kind of an urgent one - we’re currently in Utah with our 10MO and unable to get the propane heater to engage. I've called tech support and dealer and both seem baffled as to why. Apparently, the 2022MY switched thermostats to a GE and I was finally able to find a manual for it and flip the #4 dip switch so it sees the furnace as a mode option. However, now it is coming up with a 'Lo' code showing less than 12.4v. No matter what I try it won't call the furnace to engage.

Any help or thoughts would be great as these Utah temps are dipping to mid 40s at night

Hi - "unable to get the propane furnace to engage" - sounds like you mean electrically? The fan does not start up and there is no evidence of the igniter firing?

New thermostat with new questions! Is this voltage supposed to be the battery voltage reaching it? Any info in the big packet of info that should have come with the RV?
Do you know what the coach battery actually reads on voltage? That seems to be one to check first.
So what happens to the voltage when you change things like plugging into shore power or starting the RV engine? Those should both assure the coach batteries are getting good voltage levels for the furnace to operate.
Not knowing what is required of the voltage on newer items but seems a possible item to test out.
Do you have a meter to actually test the battery, on the odd idea of some form of bad connections? Testing directly on th ebattery post would be more reliable than using any remote reading.

You do not mention it but many do keep a small electric heater on board as added heater.

Hi!

I appreciate your reply. I don't have a meter with me to check voltage but it seems like the “onboard diagnostics” of the GE thermostat isn't liking the voltage it sees.

The manual nor any parts diagram I can find shows this new style of the thermostat. So not entirely sure if I'll have any success without a meter and/or old style thermostat.

Probably wise to get a small heater for these Utah trips!

Just a thought. Not telling you to do this. The thermostat is just a open and closed contact when it calls or doesn't call. Could you pull the T-stat and put the red and white wire together? If red and white are what they use for heat. Standard in the non-RV world. This would at least let you know if the thermostat was bad. No batteries in the thermostat,,right ?
