2022 Minnie Winnie above can bunk breaking?

Hello board.

We have a new 2022 MW 25B that has an issue with the cushion insert that goes above the cab. There are bolts or screws starting to protrude on the under side. My dealer in Texas (we are in NM) has not been good at ordering us a replacement. Has anyone dealt with this part failing before? I’ve attached a photo.

Thanks.
Steve

We have a 2021 22M. I’ll have to check ours and see if we have the same issue. We typically use the overhead bunk area for storage with the cushion stored close to the front.

Thank you. I actually unzipped the cover and was able to pull the cover down far enough to get a good look at what was protruding through the material. There were 2 staples that had worked themselves out about 1/2 an inch. I tapped them back in. Not sure if they will stay flush or not. Lol

Here’s an update. The staples are not staying flush underneath the bunk support. I was thinking about screwing in 1 inch long wood screws in place of the staples to see if that solution would better hold the wood together. I asked Winnebago service via email and they suggest a take it to a service location, which for me is 90 minutes away. Yikes. Lol

If this is a section of the bunk which extends out over an open space, I would guess there is a load limit for use and it is being overloaded. Perhaps a check of the manual for info but for function, it may need additional support underneath the section which is bowing down.

Much of the "furniture" in RV and especially the lower end/smaller ones is not made to support the weight we often find in normal stick built houses. We do sometimes have to modify the way we live to suit what we have in the RV.
