2021 View navigation problem

I recently purchased a new View with the Sprinter chassis.
There is a speed indicator both on in the nav screen and in the screen between the speedometer and the tac. It will never indicate a speed over 55 mph. If I am on a road with a speed limit below 55 is indicates the speed correctly but as soon as I enter a highway with a speed over 55 it just stays at 55 even upon driving on a 70 mph freeway.
Anyone out there have a similar problem or known about a problem like this?

Thanks
Bob

Maybe this has something to do with it?
Found via google search.

We use Google Maps with Android Auto, which seems to display the correct speed limit more often than the built-in MBUX navigation system in our 21VD.

Have you been able to get Mercedes Pro Connect to activate? [Is the Mercedes Pro Connect icon lit up or grayed out under Mercedes Pro & Apps on the MBUX console?]

We picked up our View in early June - and 3.5 months later, we still haven't been able to get Mercedes Pro Connect to activate, even after working with MB's 1st & 2nd tier support, our local Sprinter dealer and MB engineering... I was hoping that once Pro Connect activated, the speed limit feature would work better.

Guess not...

The more they overtake the plumbing, the easier it is to stuff up the drain.

The Mercedes Pro Connect icon is lit up on my MBUX console but there are only two apps when you open it. Smartphone and Browser.
An MB tech said Pro Connect had nothing to do with Nav.
Does your speed limit indicator ever go over 55mph on your nav screen?

Software & map updates may not be installed if Pro Connect isn't activated - which impact MBUX and the navigation app.

It's not clear where the speed limit data is coming from - is it part of the software or part of the map updates?

NOTE - the automatic map updates that come with Mercedes Pro Connect only provides the map data for the region around your location (large state, or a group of smaller states). To get updates for the rest of North America requires logging into your Mercedes Pro Connect account and manually downloading the map updates to a USB memory stick and then insert it into an MBUX USB port.

Update the map software.
My 2020 Horizon Nav software was from 2018, when I updated it everything works just fine.

I’ll research the software update procedure. Thanks.

With the MBUX system, software updates are supposed to be automatic, if Mercedes Pro Connect is activated, with updates automatically installed.

If they aren't being installed - then Pro Connect may not be fully activated - and either the activation will need to be completed, or you could have a Sprinter dealer manually install the update.

You should be able to see the status of software updates on the mpp.mbvans.com

As for the maps, you should be able to access the manual map updates on the Optimized Assistance page - checking the Settings for Online Map Update.

For consumers, Mercedes Pro Connect is way to complicated - really intended for commercial vans in a managed fleet.

It would be much easier if Mercedes would offer Mercedes Me for Sprinter-based RVs...

My 2019 Sprinter has the same problem. On the Sprinter Forum a few owners found that theirs worked properly after an ECU update.

I like to use the double-tap feature to automatically set cruise control to the posted speed limit, but it doesn't help much when it thinks every freeway is limited to 55MPH.

Incorrect speed limit display

Just bought a 2020 Winnie Boldt on a 2019 Sprinter drivetrain. I also noticed the 55MPH max display , error? Our first visit to the MBZ dealer was a result of an airbag warning and unknown to us, 5 other recall issues.

Aside from the warning I had 3 issues I wanted corrected and the correct speed limit display was one. The dealer made it sound like it was quite a project to get that software/firmware corrected, resets and updates I suspect. It now reads correctly.

So, the answer is, take it to the dealer. If you haven't been you may find several minor recalls that need to be handled as well. Swivel seat wiring alignment, brake line alignment, updated bolts and so on, just got another notice in the mail! Thankfully nothing major.

I can't tell you how many vehicles I've own but with my 20J on a 19 chassis I've made more trips to Mercedes-Benz than I can count. From a lot of recalls to a nox censor and more. If I wasn't retired this would really be a pain.

Since the 2019 chassis is a new generation, not surprising there are a higher than typical number of recalls. Would expect View/Navions built on 2020 chassis will see fewer recalls.
