2021 Travato 59GL Problems

Well, my 2021 Travato 59GL was delivered to me with both the blind spot assist and crosswind assistance systems DISABLED. And since they had replaced the factory radio with a Pioneer DMH-1500NEX and Maestro system that isn't compatible with the 2021 Promaster chassis, there's no way for me to enable them again. I've opened a support claim with Winnebago about it but they have no idea how to fix it and are due to have a "phone call" meeting with someone today at 2pm and after that they should know how to fix this. Add to that the front dinette heater hole has the fabric separating from it and tearing, the toilet water supply pipe looks like it's popped out of the wall/was never installed properly, and a myriad of other fit-and-finish issues, it looks like the QA/QC on these things has declined in recent years?

Who did you purchase that from? If you call Winnebago customer service they might be able to send you some matching fabric to make it easier to repair.

Not to make any excuses for anyone... but the final QC on any RV of any manufacturer has pretty much always been something left to the original purchaser.

As an FYI - all chassis related issues, such as the Blind Spot Monitor, etc are probably best address by the chassis manufacturer. In the case of the ProMaster Chassis I guess that's RAM.

Hopefully, WBGO will be able to coordinate a fix for you but keep in mind that RAM warranties and is responsible for the chassis parts of your Travato.

I have asked some other owners of 2021's if they had problems and none had. I am interested (worried) that the 2022 I have on order might have problems especially with so many changes from previous years.

I agree with iball about QA...my new 2021 Travato 59gl also has a Pioneer Maestro radio problem, and had cupboards falling apart, outdated manuals, holes in roof sealant, very bad caulking for shower pan. I’m an RV newbie so I’m expecting to learn as I go, but Dealerships should be transparent about the HUGE blunder with these replaced radios. Anyone considering buying, Beware about Volta autostart system...the Info packet I was given had old instructions stating that autostart would kick in b/t 25-35%! NOT! It is 10% or less. Plus the autostart module can get out of whack if some sales or service person doesn’t know what they’re doing and cranks the engine while trying to set autostart.

No ETA on Pioneer radio fix, so I have no ability to see my cruise control speed, set my time/date and my chassis is a 2020. Dealership Roy Robinson couldn’t update it for me.

I cannot find any Travatos having the problems you all have. Searched government sites and other forums. You would think that many others would be complaining. I have a 2022 coming in and don't want any problems like yours. I will continue to search.

We’ve had 2 Travatos and my question is why is there a Pioneer radio in them? Is it some kind of upgrade? Granted the factory radio we have is woefully small and the Tom Tom GPS is not my preferred GPS. I’ve heard the newer Ram’s have a much needed upgraded radio setup.

Yes, it is an upgrade at least for Travatos maybe others. There were many complaints about the nav system and screen size. I think that is what triggered it.

I think the radio works fine but interface between it and the Travato (idatalink maestro rr?) is the problem. It is a Winnebago problem not Promaster or the dealers.

I’m with you now. That 5” screen on the factory radio is just downright horrible!! I’ve heard Ram has a new standard radio unit. I hope you get the issue resolved without too much aggravation.

I don't have it yet. The 2 guys above have it but it doesn't seem common. My 2022
Travato KL won't be in until sometime in June.

I have the 2021 Tellaro ... basically the same thing. I have the same issue. The upgraded radio is great but I can not set the dash clock. Also, and I do not think my crosswind system is working as I have gone through some pretty high winds and keeping the dodge promaster on the road is a white knuckled driving experience to say the least! I have had a couple blast of side wind turn on the ESC (flashing) and it does shut off the cruise control when that happens ... but nothing seems to be preventing the sideways motion ... very scary!

The best advice is that for crosswinds over 25 mph ... pull over and camp.

The interface between the upgraded radio and the Dodge promoter seems to have been missed completely.

Picked up my 2022 59KL Travato today. The blind side sensor works. I can't tell if the wind assistance works. Too many manuals to read! 47 miles on it! Much more storage and can't wait to try the beds.

The new water system has a syphon setting so you can syphon in bleach. I figure I can syphon in Gin and have serve Martinis right out of the facets!

Congrats on the new ride KM. It seems like Winnebago is constantly upgrading their RVs. Please keep us posted on your likes and dislikes. The Winnebago dealer closest to me has a 2020 59KL National Park Model for sale. It’s used with 27K on it.

I have a 2021 Travalo 59K used has 650 miles on it. Will pickup in August from dealer. My question is have the software problems with the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX / Maestro been resolved yet ?
This is regards to Cross Wind and Blind Spot detection.
