Xantrex XM 1000 inverter issue on Vista 32k

My Xantrex XM 1000 inverter that is installed in my 2011 Winnebago Vista(32k) worked fine when I did my final walk through. I have not needed to use it. I since then have tried to turn it on and there is no power to the unit at all. It does not turn on. I have done all of the troubleshooting procedures from the manual. I have checked the voltage from the batteries and it measures 12.8 VDC. I have disconnected both the AC and the DC for an overnight period and that did not work. I have also taken the remote off of the wall and plugged it directly into the front of the inverter with no joy. The inverter does pass AC through it when shore power is applied. I have this feeling that I am missing a power switch, breaker or some type of procedure. I hope there is some experienced folks out there that could help me out. I would welcome any type of suggestion that is available. There are no warranties to fall back on. I will make a service call but wanted to try this first.

Thanks for the help
Eggz

Do you have manuals? Or have you tried to find them online?

Yes I have manuals and found them online. Trying to rule out motor home stuff first. I may have faulty inverter but I am hoping it was procedural.

Eggz2, if the inverter passes AC and you have DC at the unit it sounds like the inverter has when south. I had the GFI trip on mine the other day but it would not pass AC.

Well after numerous hours of troubleshooting, I ordered a gently used inverter off of eBay. We will see. I'll keep you posted!

Did you try to unplug the data cable (like a phone cord) between the remote panel and the inverter and then plug it back in? Sometimes that can reset the remote.

I did try that. I also took the remote off of the wall and took it to the inverter and plugged it in directly to the unit to rule out the cable run.

Sounds like it is bad if it passes AC and you got 12vdc at the inverter. When you get the used one installed just do the remote panel first as it will save you some labor if that is the only thing wrong. Btw, you can swap in the 1800w version pretty easily in place of the 1000. I did that so I could run our Kuerig while cruising down the road with no genny.

zman I actually got the 1800. Is there anything you had to change in order to install? Going from 1000 to 1800?

Just a little longer in length, that is it, everything else is identical. It does have a fan on it that runs now and then, the 1000 did not have that fan.
