Wiring cut in rear to side fans for dash A/C and HEAT

Looking for help with this.
2000 Ultimate Advantage 38K. 330 hp
Turn on Dash A/C or heat and nothing.
Slight air movement on fan speed 3 setting.
In the back...
Fans have been tested with seperate current ... they run.
Single YELLOW power wire is connected to the junction with the fans wires.
Single WHITE wire has been cut from junction and hanging.
The 2 fans have a set of wires EACH and the second group has the WHITE wire cut.
NO WHERE IS THERE ANOTHER WHITE WIRE CUT.
EXCEPT....
the WHITE wire that is cut is like a 12 GA.
There are 2 other wires near the radiator that are CUT.
THEY ARE LIKE 14 GA. and do not look similar to being from the CUT WHITE WIRE.
DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT THIS.
A SHOP DID THE FOLLOWING.

Charged A/C. IT took very little.
Started engine.
Turned on dash A/C to MAX COOL
Fans in rear DID NOT RUN.
The owner said " I don't like doing this, but it shouldn't hurt it. You sit in the driver's seat and tell me what happens."
He took a garden hose and lightly sprayed the small side radiator behind the fans. THE DASH WAS TURNED ON.
INSTANTLY.... Ice Cold AIR blew from all the vents. There was just a Trickle of warm air before that. Now... all 4 fan speeds worked and the air was very cold. He stopped spraying and about 10 seconds later the air slowed and was warm again.
He said cooling the radiator, like the fans would do with the water, showed everything worked except the power to the fans. He just didn't have time to look into the wiring being cut.
His mechanic said he thought someone wanted my junction and the way it was cut looked like it was stolen
Any idea what I would be looking for....for the WHITE WIRE.
THX

Looks very similar to my '02 Journey. Those fans might have had a junction that joined those two fan wires, which than was connected to the white wire...which in a Winnebago is a ground wire. Two 14's connected to a 12 ga ground with a wire splice of some kind wouldn't be unusual on an older RV.

It's dark here now but I'll check out mine tomorrow and see if I can spot that sort of splice under there.

Could be that the PO had that wiring damaged somehow and it didn't get reconnected correctly. From what I remember, the two fans are the only items with wiring in that area so it should be easy to configure correctly.

Meanwhile, if you have the Freightliner Chassis, you should be able to call their service and have them email a schematic of the wiring in PDF form. Those fans are a chassis item so the chassis manufacturer should have wiring drawings.

Mine does have the 2 yellow and 2 whites that go into the loom so I am not able to see what happens after that. Looks just like your picture above except it's not cut and is covered by the black plastic loom after around 12" of exposure.

But, like I said, WHT is usually ground.

Best thing to do is read the numbers on the wires, post them here, then I'll look them up.

BTW, it would be best to ohm out the motors because someone thought that cutting the wire was necessary. However, keep in mind that unscrupulous shops will sometimes do that to squeeze more money out of a customer. It may not have worked in this case and the owner drove off.

First 2 pics are FAN WIRES.
Next ones are
CUT WIRES 3 FEET from fans.
Green Tape...
2 wires connected that join a 3rd that is cut.
Red Tape...
Same...
I have 2 smaller wires connected to a 3rd. CUT
A SECOND 2 wire connected to a 3rd. CUT
THE WIRES MARKED GREEN...
133451 - 01 FT
THE WIRES MARKED RED...
133451 - 01 MP
I don't believe they are CUT from each other.
Dirt markings on CUT WIRE tips are almost a match.
Need the fans first.
I do not see a place where a ground was cut from frame.
Freightliner was little help. Schematic was nuts.
Thx for looking

Okay, the Wire ID Chart says:

RE = Radiator Fan relay #1 (Common)/12 ga Yel
RF = Radiator Fan relay #2 (Common)/12 ga Yel

RK = Radiator Fan #1 GROUND/12 ga Wht
RL = Radiator Fan #2 GROUND/12 ga Wht

As I said before, White (Wht) is usually ground in a Winnebago so if you'd just run another white wire from any nearby frame piece (clean the metal, drill and tap a hole for a ring terminal to be screwed down to) than to that loose white wire, that will satisfy the wiring requirements.

Under the dash will be a box with a bunch of relays inside and I'd guess you'll find the two fan relays in there. My box cover has a print up on the back of that cover showing which relay is which. Check that both fans are running. If not, swap those relays to narrow down which one isn't supplying voltage to the fan. Wouldn't hurt to remove and replace them just to clean their external contacts a bit before the test run.

Fans

Thank you.
I will be checking all today. If fans run fine after connecting GROUND WHITE WIRE and Cold A/C happens, should I check the other items you listed anyway.
When you say "under the dash" are you referring to opening front hatch outside and open Electrical panel door for the relays?
Any ideas on those other wires.
I can't see why the two would have been connected together. Could they be GROUNDS?
THANK YOU SO.MUCH SO FAR

Yeah, sorry, I meant 'under the hood'. There are usually a box of relays under the hood in front, whether the RV is gas or diesel. So yeah, I meant find the box under the front hatch outside. Sorry.

No, don't bother to check those other wires for those codes. You already have the 'Y' setup and those codes will be on those wires. They obviously go to the fan motors so no need to verify the codes.

Earlier you said you knew where the yellows connect so reconnect them and test, once the white ground wire is connected to a ground.

The white wire can go anywhere you can drill a hole and wire brush the metal so it's half way clean where the ring terminal is attached. You can splice that white wire to a longer piece of scrap wire too if you want, so it has longer reach.

I just had cataract surgery so really shouldn't be on the computer. So give things a try but don't be surprised if I don't answer quickly.
