Winnebago letters

Does anyone know how the letters (Winnebago) are attached to front of the 2014 Adventurer. I want to remove the film but really do not want to take letters off.

They’re probably applied differently on a $400,000 class A than one like we have, but mine appeared to be simply glued on with a robust 3m style tape…

You don't seem to be getting many answers but that may be due to confusion on what you are saying?

As far as I know, you are speaking of decals and that means they are held on with some form of adhesives. But what film is it you are wanting to remove? We have nothing that covers our decals, just the decals and adhesive.

Are they the original decals or some after market item?
Do you have some film that somebody tried to cover the decals to make them last longer? Folks do lots of odd things!

Idea is that you need to explain further what you are asking!

I'm guessing you are describing a protective 3M type film applied over the OEM paint and decals. If so, careful removal of the film (plenty of youtube videos and discussions on this forum) will not affect the Winnebago logo decals.

Miss Rose and I removed the yellowing, beginning to peel 3M off our front cap soon after our Journey became new to us. Removal of the 3M carried with it nicks and bits of stone impact. So we removed the logo decal, glassed the impact pits and used our HVLP to shoot the entire cap with automotive paint (FinishMaster, Inc.) and clear coat. The experience was so pleasant, , we removed ALL the decals and, older and WISER, had a local automotive paint shop paint the swoops back on and shoot clearcoat. We did not have him paint on the logos ($$$$$). Anyway, much as we believe our winne is perfect, Winnebago has not once sent a retainer check for being a rolling billboard, and if people ask, we just tell them it is one of the new mid size Integras.

I removed my Diamond Shield using Contractors Solvent and the Harbor Freight plastic chisels. I used a sharp X acto knife to score the film around the Adventurer logo and left it intact.

The 2014 Adventurer has raised chromed plastic letters on the front. I just polished the film on the front of our Adventurer and looks like the letters were put on after the film was applied. I can not see a seam around the letters.

My “Adventurer” logo was definitely on top of the film. I used a sharp Xacto and just followed the outline of each letter carefully scoring the film. Time consuming but the end result is worth the effort. When I did mine the temps were in the 90’s, coach faces north. Some say to utilize the suns heat but I prefer to work in the shade at those temps. I stretched a tarp out and tied off to the mirrors and a couple tent poles and worked with a fan on me. Cover your headlight lenses with painters to keep the solvent off of them. The Contractors Solvent and the HF 1/2” scraper did the job with no I’ll affects to the paint surface. Keep a sharp edge on your chisel, start at a top corner spraying with solvent, scape away the film and then go back over to remove the glue residue. It took me probably 8-9 hours total.
