Window replacement

We have a '06 Winnebago Vector with Atwood Windows which are losing their laminated seal and moisture is in between the glass. We lost the outside glass this past weekend and need to replace it as well as one more. Understanding Atwood no longer is in the window business, has anyone needed to replace any glass and found a good source for same?

We had two new lites of dual pane, insulated glass made at RV Glass Repair Service in Greensboro, NC. We dealt with Scott. Due to time constraints, he made the glass for me, from my blueprint. We picked them up and had them installed at an automotive body shop later.
We were very pleased with their service, communication, and price.

(I am in no way affiliated with this company in any capacity! LOL)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I will try to contact them tomorrow AM. My local shop quoted me $1050 for 2, but he was outsourcing the project.

We also have heard good things about this Greensboro company from friends who travel from that part of the country. Not to steal Steve-n-Sue's thunder, but there is nothing "magic" about RV side glass. If NC is too far from SD, call a local residential glass company that deals in window replacement. They can template, order and/or mfg a tempered glass, double pane, tinted replacement. However you want.

Front glass, of course, is another story.

Ours came argon filled -- overkill unless you are replacing all your windows.

Thanks for the input. My local guy wants $1015 for 2 pcs 26" x 23". Seemed a little spendy - maybe I'm still on the uphill side of the curve on maintaining a MH!

A friend had a local glass mfr build a glass for one of his smaller windows, (18" x 24" approx.) He charged him in excess of $350 IIRC, so do your homework, ask for quotes.
Best of luck!

There are companies that repair the dual pane windows. One is RVFogDr in Searcy, AR. (https://www.rvfogdr.com/). They repaired one of our fogged windows, in 2013; and, it's been fine, since. The bill was $200-something, for the one window (parts and labor, total.)

I have no experience with them, but Suncoast is having a promotion for FMCA members; $50 off each window. So if you are a FMCA member, check 'em out. https://suncoastdesigners.com/

Window repair / replacement

I visited Suncoast in Hudson FL and had them repair 7 - “fogged” windows for my 2006 Adventure 2 years ago and would highly recommend them. They had to replace 4 panels because the etching was beyond repair, however the cost for the three double windows plus the glass above the passenger side window was $1100 including removing and installation with a lifetime warranty. And they provide free RV sites with full hookups large enough for any rig on premise. Len

Great! I hope you are a FMCA member! (If not, it's only $50 a year and you can save $200 on your windows. ) Be sure to post back when they are done and give us your review of the work.

A progress report:

The Techs started at 6:30am - as scheduled!

The removal of all 4 windows was completed by 8:30am. The re-lamination takes 24 hours to cure so they expect to complete re-installment by tomorrow by 10:30am.

The house came into the coach, removed window shades, valances, trim (all will be reattached!) and unscrewed the window frames so as to allow the outer frames to be pulled off. Another team separates the double-pane glass and determines the if glass can be cleaned and re-sealed or needs to be replaced.

Very neat, careful, courteous and professional.

More after all is completed.

The guys that removed and re-installed ours did not take the frames out of the bus. They used a windshield removal tool to separate the adhesive, trimmed the excess of the old adhesive and used 3M windshield adhesive to glue them in place. They taped them with masking tape to hold them in place for 4 hrs.
