Window drain covers?

I noticed that our Sunstar has one or two of these things stuck in the condensation/rain drain slots in the lower window frames.

Presumably, every slot in every window had them at one time.

What are they called and where can I find them?

I have been looking for something like this for well over 30 years, not just for our RVs, but for our house windows. The prevailing wind can blow through them and make a noticeable draft at at times. In the past, I have made flaps out of electrical tape, but these look better.

Thanks!

SLOweather-

According to the parts list (link here), the covers are part number 186175-01-CHT. I'd call Winnebago and ask them to confirm the part number and to order replacements.

I believe that those are only used on the driver/passenger windows, not all of them. They cut down on wind noise.

The picture shows a weep hole cover. They differ by window manufacturer. Most larger hardware stores carry several varieties for home windows. Another source is window installers in your area. For home windows they are usually inexpensive.

Not so for the moho. Ours made by Atwood. They come handed right and left. We have two (left). Missing 37. Last checked, they were $3.65 each at our local authorized dealer. On Amazon they are $1.70 +$4.10 shipping. One of these days I intend to spring for them. Just keep springing for other things.

I believe l1v3fr33ord1 gave you a good part # for your search.

Winnebago sells them for about $ 3 each. If your ever in Forest City you can stop by Winnebago Parts and save the shipping cost.

If I am seeing this correctly, it concerns me that something is made to cover the exterior weep holes. The weep holes provide a path for rain or other water to escape the window track/frame. If you cover them water could back up and into the interior. Surely I must be seeing this wrong as I cannot imagine ANY manufacturer condoning plugging the weep holes.

They don't completely block the weep holes they just deflect wind so that they don't whistle.

You aren't picturing it correctly. They are little eaves for the weep holes, I found another 2 on the other side. These are not side-specific as someone above thought. One of these is driver side, the other passenger, and they are identical.

The temper brand on the windows say Kinro. A Kinro Weep Google search led me to Pelland Enterprises Motor Home Products - Pelland Enterprises

Available in white or black, $1.60 each.

At that price, I think I'll get enough to do the whole coach, plus a few spares. Of course, the driver side rear bedroom escape window is a different brand...

Thanks all for pointing me int eh right direction!

Some styles have a right and left hand version, others are the same on both sides.

My weep hole covers from Pelland arrived yesterday. When I install them, I think I'll tack them down with a couple of spots of clear Lexel. They are easy to knock off.

So, here's a potential tip for those who want weep hole covers.

First of all, I determined that a lot of the front seat area wind noise was caused by the weep holes.

Second, those covers I bought were not correct and I retruned them.

Third, the ones I need have been discontinued.

I used our Sunstar last weekend to ferry a men's retreat group down to the monastery in Santa Barbara (~100 miles one way) and it afforded me the opportunity to do 1 experiment on purpose, and one accidentally.

For the on-purpose experiment, I covered all of the driver and passenger seat weep holes with electrical tape to check the wind noise reduction. It was noticeably quieter in there on 101, especially on the return trip with heavy crosswinds.

For the inadvertent experiment, we had lots of rain there over the weekend, some heavy. I left the tape on, and there was no leaking into the coach.

HOWEVER, this is due to the design of these aluminum window frames. The weep slots are cut or punched in a recessed horizontal groove in the extruded frame. See the top post picture in this thread.

My tape covers bridge that groove and leaves a slight opening on each end for water to escape.

Now that I have a (cheap!) solution, I will think about something better.
