Which Chassis Is Which

We own a new to us 2010 Winnebago Sightseer 37L.
No manuals came with it, so I'll have to download what's needed.
How do I tell if I have the:
Ford F53 Chassis or the Workhorse W22 Chassis.
It has 22.5 inch tires on it (original)
Any major differences in each?
Thanks for any info.

Download the advertising brochure and view the specs at Winnebago Motorhomes - 2010 Sightseer
The easiest way to find out is to find the weight sticker inside the coach, or- to remove the engine cover, it should have ID on the engine. If it's 10 cylinders, it's Ford.

Does it have the GM 8 cyl or the Ford V10? That will tell you what chassis you have.

If you have a V 10 plaque on the side towards the front of the MH it's a Ford. You can also call Winnebago. Make sure you have the VIN and serial # handy.

I would think the Workhorse will have their badge somewhere on the outside of the rig, and same for Ford.

You will have a sticker on the wall, driver's side, just below the window. It will tell you who the incomplete vehicle (chassis) was manufactured by (Ford-F53, Chevy-Workhorse). Here's mine:

Does the center of the steering wheel say Ford or Workhorse?

Hope the previous answers helped you determine which brand chassis you have.

IF you do have a Workhorse chassis, it is likely to be one of the last made, just like mine is. The "major" difference is that WCC used GM V-8 and a 6 speed ALLISON tranny, while Ford is a V-10 and their 5 speed "torque shift" tranny.

If you need more info about Workhorse, click the link in my signature.

I'm wondering how a chassis built 01/10 (in your picture) qualifies as a 2011 (as in your signature).

Good catch! Actually, Ford (Detroit Chassis) started building the F53 designated as Model Year 2011 at the beginning of 2010. I got the model year of my chassis from the Ford Fleet VIN Decoder website. So my unit is a bit odd as it's a 2010 motorhome (3/11/2010) built on a 2011 chassis!

Here is a copy of my results and a pic of the engine tag that shows a 2011 MY:

Thanks for that explanation. "Usually" we see posts questioning why a chassis is a year or two older than the coach. Your case is just the opposite
