When It Rains It Pours

2007 Adventurer 38J - I've noticed in the past two months, not anytime before, that when we get a decent rain I get water intrusion into the engine compartment behind the hood and cowl. It drips onto some of the wiring harness on the drivers side. I note that the parts manual show three medium sponge rubber seals behind the cowls that seem like the place to start, at least looking to see if they're in good shape or even there. Does anyone have any idea how the cowls are removed?
It's interesting that in all the rain we've been in the last year and a half no water intrusion. Now in the last month it's happened twice.

See page 3-11 of your operator manual on how to remove the engine cover aka "doghouse". The fitting will be a bit of a hunt to find since it's buried in the carpet but it will be on the centerline in the rear top or edge of the doghouse. I'm not sure what size of hex wrench it takes and the manual doesn't specify:

I think there is some confusion on the question---or maybe me?
I think the question is how to remove an outside panels but maybe we need to check what we are talking about?

Is the question how to remove these panels as I've marked in red?

Yes. I've discovered that the installed foam rubber no longer seals. If I can remove the cowls I can install new foam rubber. I just can't find out how they are attached.

Decided to go a different route and fix it without removing the cowling. I'm going to use rubber rain gutter drip molding available from Amazon. I can install it in the gap between the cowling and windshield without it being noticed from the ground
