Whats new on the 2014 Tour/ Ellipse?

Ok gang, I know the WIT rally is only a few weeks away.....and Winnebago usually unveils the new year models there......but anyone have any insight on the new upgrades or highlights that will be featured on the flagship models?

Thanks

If you go to the Winnebago Industries site -winnebagoind.com and go to Dealers - Winnebago University - you will find a link on that page to the "What's New" info offered to Winnebago dealers. Information has been posted for all 2014 models and you can download the Tour and Ellipse info or whatever you are interested in. You also won't have to wait for the GNR and try to figure out what is new!!

BranB,
Here is some more info from Lichtsinn Motor website:

For 2014, the following exterior enhancements are being made:
1. Contour windows…frameless darker tint awning style windows, which provide a better seal than competitive frameless windows
2. An additional patio awning to provide maximum coverage on the patio side (3 awnings total)
3. Enhanced LED patio awning lights and service center lighting
4. A longer over the entrance door awning
5. Swivel brackets for the exterior entertainment center TV, which has now been made standard
6. Entrance stepwell enhancements
7. Restyled rear mud guard with logo
8. Colored inner compartment door liners

For 2014, the following interior enhancements are being made:
1. Enhanced lounge area with larger 46 inch LED TV on swivel, with hidden storage and built in safe behind
2. Restyled curved fireplace
3. Larger 10 inch screen display on the infotainment center system for SiriusXM and Navigational display
4. Whisper quiet bath fans
5. LED style ceiling and overhead lighting
6. New improved entrance screen door usability
7. Key One Plus, with coach key enhancement system, utilizing only two keys for the entire coach
8. Stylized bed skirt added
9. Restyled dining chairs
10. All electric coach, with induction cooktop and Aqua Hot hydronic heating

For 2014, the following options have now been made standard, mitigating a nominal price increase:
1. Infotainment center with GPS
2. SiriusXM satellite radio
3. Exterior entertainment center with TV
4. Electric fireplace
5. Stainless steel valance trim
6. Flexsteel luxury cab seating

Bryan

if you go to the Lichtsinn website, they have a 2014 with photos. it shows the two awnings, what is odd about it at least from my view, is that the front awning is mounted on the slideout (like in the past) and the 2nd awning is mounted on the body itself, so they do not go out the same distance. I do like the new wider door awning, it covers the small copilot window.

view the 2014 Tour

Yes, I have been speaking with Nicole there and she was kind enough to send me the link. I agree with you about the rear awning....and from these photos it looks like we have lost a significant amount of underneath storage too. (Photos may be a little misrepresented though). And the way they have cut up the overhead cabinets in the salon by the recliner was a big yuck to us too. Hoping to see it in person in a few weeks.

The 2014 Tours do not have a ladder on the back. I suspect lawyer influence. I don't think the 7' folder is going to get you up there. Not good for roof issues at campgrounds!

when I talked to the factory while mine was still there, was told they still have the ladder supports behind the body. their design engineers says people like the smooth look better without the ladder. I was able to have them install the ladder before it left the factory.

majfrizz,
Smart move- nice coach. We have a 2013 Tour QD. You might want to check the weight per axle and adjust the tire pressures. I set mine at 105 psig for the front and 80 psig on the drive and tag. Freightliner uses Neway's drive/tag suspension with a balance regulator. The load per tire on my drive and tag axles are within 75 lbs. Neway uses Firestone Airsprings and out of college I worked there as a Airide New Product Engineer. They can take a lot of abuse. If you have any questions about them let me know.
Regards,
Greg Spannan

A major change to me on the QD is the removal of overhead cabinets above the recliner. The cabinets were removed to accomodate a larger window. I, too, would want a ladder. Use it quite regularly.
