Water Heater problem with 2003 Adventurer 38g

After fixing the last problem on the water heater it worked for about 6 weeks. Now it is out again. Can't get the gas side of it to work. I don't get any voltage to the thermal cut off switch. Light on the control panel comes on green with the switch, but there is no ignition. The fail light doesn't even come on. Can't find any mention of a fuse for the water heater. There should be 12 volts on the brown wire coming into the water heater from the On/Off switch. Checked the breakers in the door at the head of the stairs and the panel under the stairs. None of the breakers is tripped. Seems like there must be some fuses some place.

John, the "gas side" of the water heater is particularly susceptible to either loose or corroded dc connections.........double check all those. Also, there is a fusible link. Can't remember which wire it's in but it's typically about a 3" section of wire covered in clear plastic tubing. Make sure that link is still good. All this is under the outside panel. good luck

There is a thermal fuse sitting right up front with the gas controls. Could this be the problem? I had my open up about 2 years ago for no apparent reason. I think it is supposed to shut things down if the flame gets out of hand somehow (like a gas leak before the burner) and temperatures rise in the front area where there is not normally a flame (like your MH is going to burn up). The thermal fuse from WI (or Atwood) is rated at 98° C. I found the lowest such fuse from Radio Shack was rated at a bit higher temperature, but there may be other sources out there. Just a thought.

I have cleaned all the connections, swapped the circuit board and checked the TCO for continuity. I have continuity through the thermostat and ECO. What I don't have is 12 vdc on the brown wire connected to the TCO. The green light does come on in the hall way when the switch is turned on.

Just one more thought. I understand the green light on the hallway switch is on but

have you checked for 12v to the brown wire at the back of the switch? I don't konw which stud goes hot when switched but you should be able to find it or find that the switch is not powering up the brown wire stud. It's probably actually yellow at the hallway switch which means there is another connector somewhere that connects the brown wire to the coach yellow. That connector may be your problem. Wish i could be of more help.

From what I can see on my schematics the pos 12vdc to the unit comes from the remote switch & I would backtrack there.

When I removed my heater the connection to the coach wiring was run across the top of heater, with connector located there.
