Warranty Usage

Iíve been in my new MH since Oct 2019. Iíve not had a need up until now to try to get something fixed under warranty by a repair shop. I need to replace my water pump. I can fix it myself or can have a repair shop do it. If I fix it myself, Iíd like the warranty to pay for it. I canít seem to find a clear answer on how to make this happen. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

I view this as something that is not likely to happen for a few different reasons. DIY replacement of the pump let's you decide if it is needed, not a company approved person.
So when we look at it from the real world perspective, why would they pay for a new pump without knowing it was needed?
Perhaps you only wanted a new pump to sell on Craigslist? I assume that is not the case but if I owned a company, I would not go that way.
Sorry, but I assume warranty work will have to be done at a shop and that does often mean massive delays due to the normal backlog and rush of new owners.

Call Shurflo, the pump's maker directly. See if they will send you a new one if you send them the old broken part.

I did that for two major items and it worked fine for me. You never know.

BUT, here's something to consider: you probably can buy a better, quieter water pump for not much over $100. I knew if my pump failed that's what I'd do.

What make you think your pump has failed completely?

Which brings up a question. Fresh Water pump? Or engine water pump?

Lots of troubleshooting.

Please, how about details? Or do you not want anything other than the warranty info you asked about in your OP?

The simple answer is, for warranty repair youíll need to take the RV to an authorized dealer or authorized repair center. But I think you already know how warranty repairs work generally.

A 2019 RV is not a likely candidate for a water pump replacement.

Water is so, so very simple, but we still drown in it!
You may or may not need a new water pump but that is why any dealer is not likely to go for just sending parts, without knowing if the pump is required.

You assumed incorrectly. I didn’t know how warranty repairs or parts replacement worked with the RV warranty. I didn’t know if I needed to go to Winnebago, back to the dealer I purchased it from or to the mfg of the part that failed. For instance, when my car failed under warranty, I went to any Ford dealer and had it repaired. I never considered trying to figure out who made my starter and if I had to go them to get it replaced. The warranty process for the RV is much different I’m finding out. As it turned out, after talking to Winnebago, I called the pump mfg and They offered to have it replaced at no charge at any of their reseller shops or they offered to send it to me for me to replace it (I chose to install it myself). Great customer service.

I was fortunate. They did exactly that. They offered to send out a new one.
