I'm considering the purchase of an '07 Adventurer
37B and was wondering how the Workhorse w-24 performs with a gas coach this size. Is it pushing the envelope of a gasser? Is it a good ride, good handling, adequate hill climber, etc.?

I have a Suncruiser 38R which is heavier and longer than the 37B. My coach handles and drives great on the W24 chassis. I have needed NO mods.

I always tow a Honda Civic and I live in hilly western PA and travel often through mountainous WV and VA.

The W24 is a great gas chassis equaling many diesel chassis' at a saving of thousands of dollars, IMHO.

I have had my '07 Adventurer 38T for a little over a month and have put nearly 800 miles on it. I pull a full size '04 Chevy crew cab and have thus far avg'd 6mpg. I have been driving a '96 Monaco DP for 5 years and the DP "rode" better and got better mileage, but it was considerably heavier and had 8 air bags! I do like the way the new M/H drives and rides and have not found a floor plan I liked better. Good luck!

the W-24 is a perfect chassis for the 37B...The power train is top notch also.

My 3 slide coach is 36' long, and I have no problem with the power train pulling me up over these big mountains....and I have a W-22.

11 weeks and 11,000+ miles from eastern PA to west coast & back in mid winter via the southern route, (I-40 & I-10). in a nearly new Suncruiser 38T on a W-24 chassis with Honda CR-V TOAD. Would I spend the bucks to do it again with a DP? Don't think so but, if I were full timing it I might re-consider for payload & ride advantages. I've not owned a DP but if they are really worth the extras $ they must be absolutely great machines!

The W-24 chassis under our 38J has done well for us for over a year now. No problems with any of your concerns.

Life is short, get an RV!

Welcome to the forum Ron

I see this is your first post and you've gotten some great responses as to the driveability of the W24 from owners with similar chassis. The next question I would ask is how much cargo carrying capacity it has. If you are looking at a coach on the lot be sure to check the weight placard inside the closet door to see what the CCC is. If it's over 2,500 lbs you should be in great shape.

My W24 CCC, from the Winnebago factory closet weight label, is is 3239#. More than many diesel pushers.
