In my case we are camping every second weekend, so in between I use the trickle charger. Probably don't need to, but I'm sure the chassis battery likes it. Lol

Update, I've added 320 watts of solar power using GoPower setup. Controller allows for two battery banks to be charged, so I wired the 2nd bank outlet to the chassis battery. Now it is being charged as needed and it will do a boost charge to clean up the plates. Working good so far

We recently bought a 2015 Vista 26HE. Our trips tend to be 4 to 6 weeks long and in our March trip we need to have warm clothes for a while. We bought a standalone plastic 3 drawer cabinet from Ace(?) that stands about 2 ft high and fits nicely in the bedroom on the drivers side under the power and antenna outlets. Adds some much needed space for clothes etc and does not interfere with bed access.

Tank sensors

I think I am having a tanks sensor issue with the black water tank. I can see the sensors on the freah water tank but I can't quit find the ones for then black and grey tanks. And I don't see the matter addressed in the manuals. Anyone have an idea where I should look. Thansk

Little slow here lately. Here’s a question: anyone calculate the cost of operating a 26he? We’re doing our retirement planning and I thought of noodling out the cost per 10K miles. We only have 15K on ours so I’d have a small sample size

Decals

We ended up removing them only on the shade
(passenger side) and ordering new ones! Very easy to apply! Sprayed sudsy water on both RV then vinyl and slid it too correct spot, squeegeed out the water let set 15 mins then pulled of outside paper

I try to wax my motorhome at least twice a year. I just waxed it this weekend with Wash/Wax All.

Hello everyone! We are still around and still have our 2015 26 HE. We have had to replace the furnace and the vinyls on the passenger side of the coach. Getting ready for a 4 weeker and can not wait! Still loving her! We have gone to look at other ones and the quality just isn't there, plus all the renovations we've done, we'd be crazy! Only have 19000 miles on it so far.

Here's my next need to know lol

We bought a tailgater for direct tv and I run the cable out the passenger window, am I missing an easier way to do this? I know regular TV cables and satellite are not the same. Has anyone else hook the receiver to the spot where it says cable and then hook the dish cable up to the outside cable hook up? I do not see a hook up for satellite cable

I am about to embark on this same journey in my 2016 26he. I've done a lot of reading and one thread says this can be done the way you suggest with the use of a splitter called a diplexer. You put one on the cable in in your wet bay and another in the vicinity of your TV. Here's a link to the Post in another forum. There is a nice diagram in the post. I have ordered the diplexers and my Dish Tailgater arrived today so I will be playing with it this weekend.

We moved up!

We are so excited! Traded in for a 2019 Vista 27PE everything we want! We got tired of the feeling that we just had to deal with the 2015 26HE. Getting ready to take off on our maiden voyage. No more console you couldn't reach. Now have cup holders on wall by the seats, light switch for bedroom, and it's not dark feeling anymore. We drove it from the dealership, 3 hours, and feels a 100% better, without the sumu springs and safe t bar... Happy Campers!

Upgrade ideas needed

Hi all! just acquired a 2014 Vista 26HE with 8900 miles. I will have some questions that I have not seen fixes or ideas for on this thread, but for now I am interested in any thoughts of upgrading the original 32" tv for a 40+ inch smart tv? I need a tv for the bedroom b/c that has not been done yet and the original 32 will be fine for this. Mounts and styling for the front upgrade would be helpful. Thanks all!

I can help you with this issue. I have a 2013 Sunstar 26HE (sister to the Vista). Your motorhome is a year newer, but the setup is probably similar (if not the same). I went from the 32" Vizio TV to a 40" Samsung TV. The 40" was the largest I could fit in the area due to the ceiling and cabinet doors. Even with the 40" TV, I had to move the cabinet doors over slightly so they would function properly. I posted pictures and a brief description on another site (https://www.irv2.com/forums/f101/up-...-317998-2.html). Check it out when you get a minute. It is post #16. If you have any questions, let me know.

On a side note - I also installed fans in each of the cabinet doors to keep the electronics cooler. See this link for that if you are interested... https://www.irv2.com/forums/f84/cool...et-347091.html

Good luck!

Are they any original owners

Just wondering if anyone still is an original owner of a 26 HE. Just seeing if anyone has anything to add to this site?

Nice to see that there are a few oldtimers around.

Now that I have mastered the beast, I would not trade it for anything newer... except mayby a 2017 Tiffin Breeze 32BR. Anyone has $100K to spare?

Yes we still have our 2013 26HE, done a few tweaks over the years, just getting ready to put a new set of tires on and we are good to go.

We had to have our generator rebuilt. A pushrod keeper came off under load and caused the brushes to break. Expensive job. I had to drive 3 1/2 hours to get an authorized Onan dealer to do the job.
We had the chassis air conditioning quit just after warranty. I have never had that repaired, as we rely on the motorhome air conditioning when on the road.
Also had the inverter burn out so batteries were not charging.the new unit is much better. The batteries remain charged and I rarely have to add water to the batteries. With the original inverter, I had to check the batteries constantly.

Chassis AC

I don’t our chassis AC ever worked correctly. We had the compressor replaced and after that it seem to blow the fuse all the time. Sorta gave up on that part simply because the coach AC was far superior at keeping the MH cool driving down the road. Besides not using the chassis AC is less of a drag on the engine
