Visible fibers in rooftop fiberglass-normal?

Been working on the roof and now at the stage of polishing and waxing up there. After a good washing I used a random orbit polisher and compound, it buffed out way easier than I thought it would. Question is, the fibers in the fiberglass are plainly visible but the surface is very smooth and slick, you can see the fibers but not feel them. Is that normal for the roof or is my gelcoat worn off/thin? What does your roof look like?

In the pics you can really see them in the reflection of the overhead lights which are very bright, but they are still visible without the light they just don't show up on the pics as well.

edit: I just did some checking and found that Winnebago uses Filon on the roof, and the Filon product has highly visible fibers, so I guess this is normal and I'll just carry on with my buffing/waxing.

I was able to see them on my Sunstar roof, too, and it caused no problems at all. The roof fiberglass is different than that used on the sidewalls and caps.

Winnebago says it’s normal, so long as there are no cracks. What “Normal” means to them, is it’s an esthetic issue, and not covered by warranty.
