Our '01 35U (Ford V10) got about 7.5MPG, no matter what we did...TOAD/No TOAD, wind, mountains, etc.

The new 35J with the V10 is getting about 6.5, maybe. I think the coaches are similar in weight.

Never had a new engine before so am wondering if newness (2,000 miles) is the difference and I can expect better later? Thanks, Steve

I think your 01 had a different trans and a lower HP engine. More HP, more fuel. I get 6.5-7 also.

I got better mileage after I broke 10,000 mi. Don't expect too much. I get between 6.5 to 7.5 depending on speed, doesn't matter if I'm towing or not. I once got 8 MPG on 1 tank but conditions were perfect.

Are you carrying full take of water?

We get just about 8 with ours when we don't have our ATV trailer. Then again I am a light foot and cruise between 55-60.

No, I had the tanks almost empty and we cruise at about 60MPH. But, we are heavy...300# of dogs alone. But we had the same weight in the 35U.

Maybe it is the more HP/breakin thing. Steve

I found a half mile per gallon improvement on my 01 Winnie Ford at about the 12000 mark. It has not changed since, so I am assuming that is about what I am going to get, 7.5 mpg, towing, at 60 mph and an occasional passing of 70. My previous 454 chevy's did about the same.
