Updating a 2005 Journey

I would like to replace my original Magnadyne and top of dash mounted Kenwood satellite radio with the newest electronics that are available.

Has anyone converted the Magnadyne radio space to a cubby hole and installed the newest Infotainment center and supplemental monitor in the dash to replace the original Sony monitor?

Any reasons this can't be done?
Can I buy the infotainment center and monitor from Winnebago parts?
Is there enough space on the dash?
Will my Sony B/W camera cable plug into the new monitor?

I thought I would start here to see if anyone has already done this before calling Winnebago or going any further with this idea.

Any other thoughts or ideas are welcome and appreciated.

Why no replies?

Personally I've never done what you are proposing so I'm sorry I can't be of much help in that regard. As for Winnebago parts, I suggest you call Winnebago. They are really easy to talk to and give great advice etc.

Thank you. I spoke with them today. The parts are available but problem is I only have room for the 10.5 " Infotainment center. They also use a 6.5" monitor above it. I am not sure what they use it for yet. I am hoping I can run rear camera through the Infotainment monitor. I would switch between rear camera And navigation.

Scottma,
You could just mount a 6.5 or even a 7 inch monitor on top. On the 05 Vectra they used one monitor within the console and mounted another on top with a u-shaped bracket. You could do the same using the console for the infortainment center and the auxiliary monitor for the rear and side cameras. I traded my 05 Vectra or I would send you a photo. All you need is a basic flat monitor.

I am having a hard time visualizing what the infotainment center looks like and how it will be positioned in the dash. When you get your update done, I am sure that I am not alone in desiring some pictures of how it looks and works.
Thanks.

I found out they use the extra monitor for side cameras. I don 't have and don't plan to so I am leaning towards just the 10.5 "Infotainment center.
However I am now also looking at the new Alpine unit which has an 8" screen. It is a good sized screen and far less expensive.
