Under sink filter

We have a 2014 Winnebago Journey 34Band we need an under sink filter. It has a 3M plug in it now and we cannot find a part number or place to order the filter.

Calmebud, those are pretty common. If you take out the plug you can see the "twist on" threads to maybe help make a decision. I replace my under-sink filter without turning the water off but if necessary, unhook city water and just don't turn the pump on. My bet is that it is a 3M. My 2014 Winni Tour filter is 3m Aqua pure c-complete.

You could call Winnebago with your coach serial number and they should be able to tell you the brand and part #.

I had trouble finding the correct filter in mine too. After buying one (3M) that was supposed to fit, but didn't, I gave up.

I know there was someone here that posted the correct part number - but I can't find the post. I'll circle back when I find it.

We still have the original filter in ours after 3-years. We bring gal bottles of Spring Water to drink and on longer trips get them refilled at Whole Foods or Natural Grocery stores. So, we are not all that concerned about this task.

Thx for the response. Is there any name or part numbers on your original filter? Callmebud.

Look at this: Water Filter. But check first. You can also get them locally at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

Hey thanks,

Could you send a picture of the original filter? Ours has only one o-ring.

I've been looking for the bypass piece the manual talks about but I don't think it's there, hope I can buy it somewhere.

I've bought this refill cartridge (the third I bought and replaced) off Amazon for the under sink filter on our 16 38Q. For a 5 micron filter it seems pretty pricey, but I bought it anyway. Never installed this latest one and left the plug in.

I didn't like the fact it only filtered the kitchen faucet so I bought a 5 micron CAMCO system and installed it on the water intake for the whole rig and now filter all incoming water for the whole rig to 5 microns. Plus we have a filter in the fridge for the ice maker/ drinking water. That set up gives me full rig filtration at a whole lot less $$$$$.

Filter 3M C-CS-FF

I also called 3M customer service and somewhat griped about the cost and availability of their filters, While on the call I shared my frustration with the rep about the short 6 mo. life span of the filter. The rep said that as we didn't likely come close to running 2000 gallons (the rated use) of the filter he suggested it would be ok to remove the filter when not used for a period , put it in a sealed baggy or similar enclosure and refrigerate it until used again. He said that would at least get me a year out of their filters before they needed to be disposed and replaced.

I don't use a bypass- I just leave the plug in that was sent with the rig 24X7 and the system works fine

I don't have a picture of the original. You stated you had a plug and the pictures I have seen of 3-M plugs do only have one O-ring. That one O-ring is sufficient to block any leak and to allow water to by-pass the opening. With the filter in place there are two O-rings. the bottom larger O-ring on the filter would be the same as the Plug,l and the second would be for filtering.

At least that is my limited knowledge - just thinking out of the box.

Hey Wayne, thx for the reply. That's not the one. The one we have has only one 'o' ring at the insertion connector.

Sorry it didn't work out. Give Winnebago a call. They should be able to tell you and if they can't call Lichtsinn RV as they are located 1 mile from the Winni factory and have 99.99 % of all parts.

Wait! How do you know you only have 1 O-ring. You can't go by the bypass plug.

We could not find one to fit our 2014 Navion either. 3M did not make that filter anymore. The service/parts departments were no help. We ended up just keeping the old one. Then traded in the motorhome for a 2019 View. I haven’t looked at the filter yet but should buy one as a backup in case they discontinue too!

After my wife caught beaver fever in the Yukon (likely from an isolated community,) we started filtering incoming water and super chlorinating the stored water. We put the drinking and cooking water through a Brita filter to remove the taste of chlorine (or chloramine in some communities). The colour of the filter, when we change it, shows a lot of scale that would end up in the fixtures.

callmebud, my 2014 Itasca Meridian 34B calls for: 3M model A1. That filter is no longer available, but the replacement is 3M 5632108. Hopefully this is helpful.
