Trading for a Vectra

We have been looking for a Class A for some time now and may have a deal soon. I would like to get your opinions about the deal. I haven't traded in about 35 years, I usually sell my vehicle and buy the new vehicle but I have a chance to trade my 2006 Outlook 25F for a 2008 "new" Vectra TD. Quite a big jump from a Class C. Seems like a good time to buy but not to trade or sell.
Outlook msrp was $81200 and the Vectra is $307210, I'm hoping for $35000 for mine and the Vectra would be $150,000 plus the trade. $185,000 and the dealer would also get the $10,000 cash back bonus from Winnebago. During these difficult times does this seem like a fair deal?

I don't think you will get the Vectra for 150K. My guess is the best you might find a new Vectra for will be @ 210K.

I think it would be a very good deal, but would be surprised if the dealer would go for it.

I agree with those above that you will not be able to buy the Vectra at that price. Good luck shopping.

Jerry, I did forget to agree with you as that would be a great deal. I wouldn't let my 2007 Vectra TD go for less than 170K.

I hope you get lucky and find a dealer that really wants to make a smokin deal.

On another issue regarding trade ins. Many people have been taken advantage of recently by unscrupulous dealers not paying of the existing rv loan after trade in. No worries if there is no pay off.

Jerry, we just traded our 1999 Chieftain 36L Diesel in on a new 2008 Tour 40TD on April 13th. The Tour listed for 267,000+ and we gave them 140,000 and the Chieftain. I felt this was a pretty good deal as we were negotiating with another dealer on an identical coach and he wanted 30,000 more. Good luck on trading for the Vectra, I will be very surprised if they will make the deal you have described.

I looked at new 2009 pushers at CW in Roanoke two days ago. $295,000 MSRP m/h going for $202,000 without any bargaining if that helps.

Just completed 12 months of the same. You won't find that deep of a discount on Winnebagos, even a Vectra. Your trade in today's market is probably worth closer to 60% of NADA low retail, depending on your dealer's current used stock. My deal for my 2009 Vectra 40WD ended up being about 34% off the list price. Good luck, it was worth it for me. Awesome, awesome coach.

40% off MSRP on the Vectra is the best deal I have heard of depending on the value of your trade, it may work. Seems if your rig is worth 35K you should get the rebate, based on the 40% discount and the MSRP. The Vectra is terrific rig.

We traded a 1999 diesel Suncruiser for 177,185 for 08 Vectra. I think they allowed us 10 to 15,000 on the trade.

I also had a chance to trade in AZ for same unit 163,224. We decided to go local.

We were contacted for one unit at 40% off sticker.

That was last Nov.

Awesome unit the 40td is.

In Dec. we bought a "new" 2007 Itasca Horizon 40TD (Vectra's cousin). It was a previously unsold repo from an Indiana dealership. As first owners we got all warranties, but the bank considered it "used" since it was more than two model years old. We paid $178K (including $2K installed HD antenna). Out the door (in California) it totaled $192,288. NADA "low retail" on the 07 Horizon is now $182,190 without any options listed.

We did not trade-in -- still trying to sell 2006 34' gas Monaco Class A. The dealer offered $40-45K and we expect to sell privatey this week around $55K. Current offer is at $53K, about $8K below NADA low retail. We expect another offer tonight after a scheduled test drive.

Well they finally went for the deal. We are at the FMCA "West is Best" Rally in Albany, Or enjoying the rain and the Vectra. They wrote it up as $150,000 plus $50,000 (inflated?) and the $10,000 rebate so was shown on paper as $210,000. The main thing was we paid $150,000 and our trade. The trade "muddied" the deal figures.
We are getting to know it and searching for all the imperfections that need to be fixed, which there seem to be many but hopefully next week when we travel back to the dealer they will be fixed.
Thanks for all your views and opinions. Now I'm sure to have many questions later about all the new systems, etc. Maybe see you on the road somewhere.

We just bought our 08 Tour in April and are taking it to GNR. While there we are going to have the factory guys fix a few items I would rather not let the dealer guys touch. You might consider taking your new rig to GNR for a shake down cruise and let the factory guys take care of your punch list.

We are going to the GNR (3rd yr) also. I'm sure we will have something for service to take care of, at least checking the roof caulking. We like to arrive a week earlier for service, Puckerbrush parade, motorhome wash, etc. and then not have to leave the grounds for service. We have stayed in Pammel Park before so walking anywhere in town is possible. Maybe see you there. Our license should be BZRVN once we get it changed to the Vectra.
