Tour 42 QD
Good Evening,
just looked at a 2011 tour 42QD 8400 miles. We really like the floorplan and the liveability, we are moving up from an 07 itasca Sunova. Tatally differant animal. We will be living in the new one 7-9 months. I would like to hear from current owners, the good and bad.
thanks

Check this thread out if you haven't seen it: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f101/tour...hlight=ellipse
We've got a 2011 Ellipse QD sister ship to the Tour.
We moved up from an 07 National Tropical.
Probably spent a total of about 3 months over the last year.
Very livable.
Todd

Purchased ours in 9/10. Now have 21K miles. We love it.
It is a very livable floorplan. We just looked at many new rigs at a rally. We think the 3rd year 42QD is the still the best floor plan available when set up. If you haven't already, you just need to check the rig out with the slides in to see if you can live with the tight quarters while on the road. Good luck.

I hope the Itasca 42QD holds up well, because we are in the middle of a deal trying to trade up from our 2007 Bounder. We will be going Fulltime in 1 year 11 months and about 20 days, but who's counting. If our house sells late next year, we will move into our FT rig until we retire and take off. We really like the QD floor plan, to us it feels homie. We also like the Newmar Dutch Star 4018, but no one around us carries them.

The 2011 model can come with either the 400hp or the 450hp with DEF. I personally wanted the 400hp without DEF. Probably makes little or no difference in the great scheme of things. There is a problem with the back bath toilet on some models. The drain line can be a 25' flex hose that runs to the black tank that lets the odor escape unlike a solid pipe which is Winnebago's suggested fix. I would contact Winnebago and find out when they changed the pipe on which model and production run.

we have been looking very close at some of the 2012 42QDs that are left on the lots. i found out across the country there is 32 of these still available that they are trying to move due to the lateness in the year. i have been checking tire dates especially anything that has been there a bit. but they are doing some decent prices. not sure of the price on the 2011, but you might wnat to look at these also

Why would you be worried about tire dates on 2012's? I'd be much more concerned about things like sewer pipe problems and other things that have cropped up since production.

i found one 2012 that came off the assembly in Jan 12, but the tire date code was from Jun 2011. so those tires are already 1 1/2 old just sitting at the dealership. i have been looking at the other items that havebeen noted here also

Not uncommon most chassis are a year older than coach this means the chassis was only 6 months old when it rolled off the Winnebago production line.

Look at my Sig. We just got our 2013 from the factory and love it. You will be amazed by all of the room it has. Awesome floor plan.

We have the 2013 Tour QD. I can only say that this is a great coach and very well thought out as to livable space and conveniences. Do go to the thread I started in Dec. when we got her. There is a lot of good info and comments about both the Tour and her sister the Ellipse.

Have a 2012 Ellipse. LOVE IT! Wouldn't trade it for any other coach. Even those overpriced million dollar babies!
