Toilet runs on 2018 Intent 26M

2018 Intent 26m. When we run our water pump, the toilet overflows, fills the toilet, and spills over. Whats the fix?
Thanks.

One common item on all the stools I have looked at is the mechanical linake between three items that effect the water flow.
Starting with the lever which we see and move, there are links to both the water vavle which turns the water on/off and the flap at the bottom which opens and closes to control when it dumps.
So the problem you have is the flap closes but the water flow doesn't stop!

This will take some looking at what may have failed or moved out of adjustment.
I would suggest looking for info on how to adjust things in a booklet in the big bag of info or if that is not onhand, find the brand and model nuimber to go online for drawings and info on how to adjust the mechanism.

Some possible causes can be simple to spot, others may be less obvious.
The mechanics can often be plastic to avoid rust but they can break or the threads may strip. Since your problem seems pretty dramatic, I'm guessing you may find a part totally disconnected.
The more "normal" complaint is that the flap at the bottom needs some adjustment as to make it open and close at precisely the right time.
We usually want a tiny amount of water left flowing after the flap closes to form a water seal on top of the flap to keep fumes out. This adjustment can be kind of precise, so I would like to have a manual to know exactly which parts need adjusted on that model as they do come in different types, etc.

Since it runs to fully overflow, I might start looking at the valve as it is certainly not stopping the water when it should. It might be as simple as a broken valve??

On my Sealand Traveler commode there is a spring attached to the water valve that is opened when you press the foot pedal. When you take your foot off the pedal, the spring pushes the pedal up and closed the water valve. If/when that spring breaks or jams, the water valve will continue to run, doing exactly what you describe. I had to replace the "spring cartridge" to fix the problem.

Thank you. Amazingly, it seems to have fixed itself. This motorhome had not been used in several month's, maybe things were sticking? I most definitely keep an eye on it.

Things like RV that are not used go downhill faster than if used, so that idea may fit!
One thing that might be worth the time is to look at the place where the flap slides shut and a little WD-40 never hurts a stool!

It fixed itself but it may fail against soon. You may want to check the pressure that the water pump is putting out. The pressure could be more than the valves and piping is rated for.

Rebuild the toilet with OEM parts and clean it.

Considering the potential mess it can create, it's worthwhile to rebuild the toilet using seals and parts provided by the manufacturer. Replace both the ball valve and the flush valve.

While you have it dismantled, make sure to thoroughly clean any deposits that may impede the movement of the ball valve.

If the ball valve is stiff or obstructed by deposits, it may not fully return to the closed position, thus keeping the flush valve open.

Additionally, using a pressure regulator is highly recommended. Excessive pressure in your system can lead to costly and inconvenient malfunctions.
