Thoughts on 2007 Itasca Suncruiser 35A ?

My wife and I are looking at a 2007 Itasca Suncruiser 35A, and I'm wondering if there are any inherent issues to be aware of with this model.

It's on the Workhorse chassis, 8.1L Vortec engine and has 23K miles on it.

It appears to be in very good shape.
I've heard the both engine and generator run though I haven't had a chance to drive it yet (maybe this weekend if time permits).
A mechanic/RVer friend and I will be going through it end to end to really check things out, aside from the normal '10 year old coach' things to look for, does anyone have thoughts on anything specific that needs to be checked?

Thanks

The Ford chassis was standard. The Workhorse 8.1L chassis was an option. Actually, there were 2 optional Workhorse chassis'. One was the W22 22,000#, the other the W24 24,000# chassis. The W22 had brake problems and a lower weight carrying capacity. The W24 has a completely different brake system. Plus, the W24 will give you 2000# more carrying capacity.

The W24 is much preferred. IMHO.

The 35A is a very nice floor plan.

Thanks Tom.
I checked, it is the W22 chassis.
It is a good floor plan - which is WHY we're looking at it.

If you don't plan on carrying a couple elephants the W22 will work.

Gotta tell you we are very happy with our 07 Suncruiser 35A. It's on the Workhorse 24,000 chassis, and we have done some updating, lots of preventive maintenance and upgrades. We've owned it 4 years and put nearly 30,000 miles on it. My service tech said these were the really great years for Winnebago's.
I hope this works out for you and if I can provide any info feel free to pm me.

I have an 06 Sunrise 35A on a W22. It's a lower content model compared to the Suncruiser, hence lighter. We use ours to snowbird for 5-6 months a year. We don't have the washer-drier combo. I've run it across the weight scales, ready for travel. It came in at 21,850 lbs. You should consider buying this MH only if it's on the 24K chassis. The 22K chassis limits me to a 4K toad. Unless there was a design change between the 06 and 07 or Sunrise vs Suncruiser, my water pump bay is located in front of the passenger rear tire. It IS NOT heated! I have to run a 75 watt drop light the cold weather to keep it from freezing.
Make sure you check the tire date codes. If they're original tires, they need replacing. They don't wear out, they age out.

Other than that, this is our 5th season snowbirding with it and it suits our needs.

Thanks everyone for the info. The dealer and I couldn't come to terms, so we walked away. Now that we know that we like the floor plan, and that others like their similar rigs we'll keep an eye out for another one to come along.

Danger, Will Robinson! That model-year falls easily into the Rusted Windshield Frame & Leaks! You can pull down on the fake windshield glass molding, called 'reveal molding'. Good for ANY signs of rust, and you'll have a problem that can cost close to $4k to repair. Sadly, if you can even see any rust, you really can't establish just how severe a problem you might have UNTIL the glass has been pulled out from the windshield.

All the reveal molding can hide... THIS!
