Sunstar and Vista LX

Hi,

Been lurking and reading for a while, created an account the other day so I could ask a couple questions

I'm new to RV's and I'm really just collecting info and figuring out what will work for wife and I.

In looking at the gas class A Winnebago's, I'm noticing they seem to have a complete duplicate of their model line. I noticed it with the Vista LX and Sunstar LX. I don't see a difference between any of the trim levels for each.

I started looking closer and noticed all the models seems to be like this...
Adventurer / Suncruiser
Sightseer / Sunova
Vista LX / Sunstar LX
Vista / Sunstar

What's the story here?

Thanks

Adventurer, Sightseer, Vista LX and Vista are under the Winnebago line; Suncruiser, Sunova, Sunstar LX and Sunstar are under the Itasca line. They're basically the same motorhome(s) - one is badged as Winnebago and the other Itasca. Winnebago is merging its Itasca lines into the Winnebago name and phasing out the Itasca name as I understand it.

As TexasProud says, they are merging the lines. In the past, there were some differences, but now it's only the name. Even the paint colors and fabric are the same now.

For the gasser models this is very true. The difference is the interior and exterior colors. If you were to look at the DP's then there are some floor model differences. They are built at the same factory by the same people so there should not be any quality differences other than how the worker felt that week.

The dealer I purchased my 2016 Vista LX 30T from sold both brands. I chose the Winnebago badge. At the time I did not know they were going to discontinue the Itasca badging, but I felt comfortable having a more recognizable brand name.

In 2012 we were considering either a Winnebago Adventurer or an Itasca Suncruiser. At that time there were only a few color choices different between the 2 models, but the Suncruiser with the exact same options listed at $2,000,00 above the Adventurer.

In the end we ordered an Adventurer. Once we made the decision our salesman made the comment that even though the Suncruiser cost more initially they traditionally sold for less on the used market. He didn't know exactly why, but surmised there was less brand recognition, therefore a smaller market.
