Sunova vs Sightseer

We're looking to buy a new coach and like the Itasca Sunova 33C. We then saw a Winnebago Sightseer 33C. They seem to be the same product; features, options, chassis, the only exceptions are the paint and interior choices, also the Itasca is a bit higher priced. Anyone know why or what if any the differences are real?

Anyone have any comment(s) on their experience(s) with either coach?

Both are made on the same line there are no real differences except as you have already noted - fit and finish

The question comes up often and the distinction between the two brands and why seems to be lost

You may find that some things that are options on the Sightseer are standard on the Sunova, but you should be able to outfit both to be essentially the same except for fabric and paint colors, etc.

We're going through the same experience when trying to decide between a Winnebago Adventurer and an Itasca Suncruiser. I even went so far as to call the factory. I asked the same question and got the same answer as you did.

In our case I went through the brochures for both motorhomes line by line to determine what equipment was standard and what was optional. According to the brochures both were equiped indentically and had the same items as options. Then I went to a dealer and got a retail price sheet for each vehicle. Once again they had identical standard equipment and identical options. Winnebago even uses the same codes for the options on both vehicles.

I can't say I'm surprised. The last time we bought I went through the same process. At that time the prices were a little farther apart with the Adventurer being a little less expensive. There were several items standard on a Sunccuiser that were optional on an Adventurer. However when you equipped the motorhomes identically the prices were within a few hundred dollars of each other.

About the only way to make a decision is to go to a dealer and look at the sample boards they have for interior and exterior colors and material choices. Then look at the ones you like in each motorhome. It basically comes down to which you prefer, and whether you're willing to pay the additional money for the differences in colors.

In our experience, Winnebago has blander and more classic lines, while Itasca has stronger and more high-style lines. Neither is necessarily better. When we bought the Adventurer, its front end was classic and restrained, while Suncruiser had a strong, contemporary front end. We bought the Adventurer, even though we have a taste for modern styling, because there was definitely a difference in the price point, and we liked one of the fabric patterns about as well as we liked the Suncruiser's.

Apparently, back in the "old" days, they were built on different chassis, so depending on which chassis you prefered, that's what you went with, at least that's what I heard, sounds logical. No difference now days. We had an Adventurer, now have a Suncruiser, just because that's what we came accross when we were looking.

That may have been true a few years ago. If you look at them today you wouldn't be able to tell one from the other if the name badges on the grilles were covered. They are absolutely identical inside and out with the exception of the exterior paint colors and the interior colors. They have identical floor plans, cabnetry, furniture, flooring, and ammenities. There is no longer even a choice of powertrains. They both come on a Ford F53 chassis.

Thanks to alll who have responded. Couldn't fine any differences that mattered so
we ordered the Sightseer today and expect delivery in March from LaMesa. So far everyone there is great to deal with and price was what we were looking for.
It's only been a few hours and we're ready to move into it.

After we had purched our Itasca Sunova we were told by a sales man that the winnebago Sightseer would be worth more when trade in time came. How true this is I do not know.

The part about trade-in value sounds like "salesman talk" to me.
