By Wayne M: Both the 2008 and now the 2015 are Freightliner chassis. The 2008 was tie-rod and the 2015 is IFS, There are two reasons why a stabilizer is a good choice. As the word describes, they stabilize the wheels. Easier handling and tracking. Diminishes wind from natural causes and 18 wheelers overtaking the MH.

The second reason is safety, not only from the stabilization but the ability to control the MH during a blow out, not that I am anticipating a blow out.

Yes, the 42qd handled well with just it's normal apparatus, and handles even better with the Safe-T-Plus, Not necessary, but a very prudent decision.

Interesting, thanks for the info. The reason I questioned it was that I had asked a Freightliner rep about adding a steering aid and he said they were not necessary or beneficial for this chassis design.

I would have to ask the Freightliner rep if he had ever driven one with and one without for his comparison. My personal opinion is that he has not driven one with a steeeing stabilizer installed.

As I stated, I'm more concerned with safety than the drive-ability. They have some very good videos on the Safe-T-Plus web site where they intentionally blow a tire on different vehicles.

The only video I found was pretty scary. I didn't find the intentional blowout tests though. I'm definitely interested.

Thanks again!

Well, that is certainly convincing. I'll be looking into that before our next trip.

Thanks again!

You are welcome and I hope you never have to find out if it works for blow-outs.

I ordered & installed it. Still have to adjust again drifts slightly to the left again. It does appear to steer better (what little I've driven it) planning a 3000 mile trip next month I'll know then how it drives. Thanks for all the replies!
