Sink cutting board covers

Our Suncruiser had a fitted wooden cutting board for the double basin sink, as well as a counter top material one.

This Sunstar has the double basin sink with one larger and one smaller basin. I searched and didn't find anything I liked, so I was going to make something suitable.

Then I searched on plastic cutting board, and found this page:

I just measured the sinks and ordered one for each side. They should be here a week from Wednesday.

You can also buy a standard cutting board and cut it size.

The Starboard sink cutting board covers arrived a few days ago. I missed on estimating the large sink corner radii by an eighth or so, so I fine tuned them on a belt sander. I think they look great.

Interesting. My 2004 Adventurer has a large and small sink basin. When I purchased it at my dealer back in 2010 the small basin cover was there. I assumed there wasn't one for the large basin. Looking in the parts PDF I saw there was a large cover. But the cost was over $300. I never got one and would have always liked to have a cover for more counter space as needed. These covers are thin, fit flush with the counter top and appear to be made out of the same material as the counter top. I always thought of making something but never did.

A year or so ago I was looking over the photos I grabbed off my dealers Web Site when it was listed on there lot. I was surprised in the photo of the kitchen. Both sink covers were there. I looked in every space in the RV but the large cover wasn't to be found. Not sure what happened but to it. I figure it got broken while on the dealer lot and got tossed. Too late to say anything 10 years later. )

How thick are the starboard covers?

I had them made in 3/8" thickness. The company has 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1" as I recall.

Thanks you for that information. 1/4 or 3/8 would work for me. I have to get one ordered.

I believe you can also get the material from Tap Plastics. They're advertising curbside pick-up in Sacramento.
