ScanGauge ll on Sightseer F53

The ScanGauge worked great on my old class c on a Ford E450 Chassis with Triton V-10 engine. Moved to Sightseer on F53 with same engine.

Now several functions do not display data. I have programmed for FTT - Fluid Transmission Temperature and no results.

Any users have any helpful suggestions.

Thanks

I have found the ScanGuage tech support very helpful. Have stepped me through differing things over the phone.

I sent them an email and this was their response.

"Are you using the CANSF or PWM codes? Your vehicle should use the CANSF codes. Make sure to try all four TFT codes we have listed on our website. If you have entered the codes correctly and they still do no report then that means your vehicle does not report these sensors."

I am using CANSF codes and both motorhomes, use the same engine. I don't understand why I can't get the TFT - Transmission Fluid temperature and the FLV - Fuel level on this Sightseer when they worked fine on my Born Free. Same engine, just different chassis.

Don't know how old your scan gauge is, but I went thru the same problem last year with our 2012 Vista with a 2011 chassis. I ended up calling their tech line while in the MH and they walked me thru a couple of different program setups till we hit the right one and I got the trans temp etc. Does your have the x gauge?

Yes, I have the X gauge. There are 4 different codes for TFT. I have tried all with no luck. I called:

Cristina Bollinger

Linear Logic

No help, her response is "If you have entered the codes correctly and they still do no report then that means your vehicle does not report these sensors."

I find it hard to believe it would not report. On your Vista, what engine and chassis.

Congratulations on the Phaeton 40 QBH. Without a doubt one of the top 2 motorhomes for the value.

I don't think you got the right tech...wish I had the manual for the scan gauge but I sold the gauge on ebay a whole ago.....if mine was able to be programed the so should yours....
The code I used was not in the book, it was one I got fro their website and we still had to fiddle with it...
Ours was a f53 chassis made in latter part of 2011, v-10 with 5 speed auto

My only suggestion at this point is to call back and ask for another tech that "may have" worked on a similar situation. I remember the tech I talked to went over the codes from the internet, spent the good part of 30-35 minutes with me till we got the right codes entered...damn sure wish I had the manual, I had the codes in it...

Finally got the TFT - transmission fluid temperature to work

Still trying on the fuel level, FLV, but it is not as crucial.

BTW, what x gauges did you find useful. I use RPM, water temp, transmission temp, and sometimes horsepower, fuel level, gear ratio.

Any other of your favorites you found useful.

Thanks for your help.
