Rig Leaning

Our rig leans a tad to the left (curb side). A Ford dealer that handles RV chassis said 99 out of 100 times its not the chassis but the coach being installed on the chassis slightly off kilter. Does that sound right? The lean is only an inch or two, but noticable enough that its bothersome. They want $150 to check it out but the result seems to be predetermined!

Don't waste your money. A little lean is totally normal depending on the way the RV was designed, the weight on driver's side and passenger are not going to be identical which is what it would take to have no lean.

I think you could probably check that yourself and save the $150.
On a level surface, crawl underneath and measure places on the frame, the same place on both the left and right side.
Measure in the front and in the rear of the MH.
If the frame is the same distance to the ground on both sides then the 'lean' is indeed due to the house not being completely level on the frame.

Once you have that information you can decide what to do with it.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will do the measuring and decide from there.

I have a 2016 Navion 24J and it was 1 1/2 inch lower in the right rear as compared to the left rear. It drove me nuts, so I bought air bags and installed them hoping for an easy fix.

In order to even out the differences I had to have almost an empty (5 psi) left bag, and a 60 psi right bag. I didn't like that idea so I added a 1 inch spacer between the axle and the spring on the right. That made it only 1/2 inch different and I am able to inflate the left bag at 15 psi and right bag at 25 psi.

The ride is very nice and I may take 5 psi out of both bags (10L/20R). I only put enough air in to raise the right rear 1/4 inch, and enough air in the left bag to just start to raise it.

PS I realize that my rig is smaller, but I wanted you to know that there are other folks that like it "right"

Have you had your rig 4-corner weighed? It can be an eye-opener. When we first got our Class A, we had it weighed empty and then loaded. The empty weight showed that from the factory, it was almost 600 pounds heavier on the passenger side. (The kitchen and bathroom are on that side.) So we load the RV with those numbers in mind to help try to level things out. Surprisingly, we have never noticed our RV leaning unless we are on a highway with significant gradient.

Many coach owners have airbags or spacers installed to help with the lean.

Make sure the mother-in-law sits on the right side. That should balance things out.

Our 2016 Vista LX had the same issue... a lean to the passenger side, quite noticeable. Called Winnebago Customer Service (Excellent service... always very helpful) they said its a known issue and to take it to dealer foe specific measurements... (the dealer techs have to liaise with the Winnie techs to get the instructions). Apparently this unit is 1300lbs heavier on the right side. A week later my dealer called to come in and get a winnie supplied shim kit... problem solved! Excellent service at Roy Robinson Winnebago in Marysville WA... and I live 1:30 away in Abbotsford BC where my dealer there just scratched their heads...

Leaning

We have a New Sightseer. They (RV) do weigh much different from side to side. 4 corner weighing is the BEST way to weigh an RV. You would be surprised how much difference there is and should load your Rig accordingly. We loaded ours the "best" we could which fixed any leaning except on "Cornering" or driving In or Out of driveways. WE INSTALLED "Sumo Springs". FIXED ANY LEANING...It also helped cornering and stability... Look for Sumo Springs EVERYWHERE...You can install them yourself??

Go to a SCALE that weighs each side. Adjust the load as needed

Extra leaf spring works great. Any dealer that tells you the house was put on crooked is someone to stay away from. Any good spring shop can fix this. Mine cost me around $600.

Can you send me a private message (or post here) of the contact at Winnebago about this issue. We have the same problem on our 2016 Vista LX 35F.
