So we just bought a 2008 Sightseer 35J and within 24 hours we gutted out most of the interior.
I had no problem removing the couch, the recliner, and the dinette.
We started to rip out the carpet so that we can lay vinyl floors, my allergies really cannot have carpet.
So in the living area and the dinette slide, I did not have too much problems, I was able to remove the weather stripping on the outside and removed all the staples on the carpet, and basically i was able to pull out the old carpet without too much problems.
HOWEVER
The bedroom slide apparently is a different beast. I did the same thing, removed the staples from the outside, but NOTHING i can do, I cannot remove the carpet from under the slide, under the bunks or under the bedroom part.
I have tried to jack it up from the outside, I have tried to pry bar the inside, nothing I do can remove this carpet...
I am looking for any advice on removing it.
Also, now that I have removed the carpet in the dinette, with the slide in, if I stand on the slide, it really seems to buckle under my weight, I do not want to stand on it... I am kind of scared that I may have done something majorly wrong. I feel like I should be able to stand on the slide when closed and not worry. Am I over thinking this? Obviously when vinyl goes down it will cover some of this, but not nearly as much as carpet..
