propane capacity
Winnebago lists my propane capacity at 13 gallons and 55 lbs. I read where the tank is only to be filled to 80%, so does this mean my ASME tank is actually closer to 16 gallons in size allowing me to hold 13 or does it mean I can really only hold 80% of 13 gal which is only 10.4 gal or 44 lbs?

According to the 2011 Via Brochure (available at Brochure Archive) the propane is 13 gallons W.C. and, referring to footnote 4: 4 Capacities shown are tank manufacturer’s listed water capacity
(W.C.) Actual filled LP capacity is 80% of listing due to overfilling
prevention device on tank.

Look on the bright side, that is still a little more than having two 20 LB tanks like are used for a typical gas grill. Almost 3 times as much if you were to do the tank exchange where they only put 15 LBs in a 20 LB gas grill tank.

sitting in the RV park for the winter,we see the Honey Wagon trundle on down to the beach sites to empty their black tanks and it got us thinking...wouldn't it be nice if they done a similar service with the LP tanker?..Using the stove.. water heater and furnace, it doesn't take too long to drain my onboard LP tank...

Reniram, there are RV parks and localities that do off that service. Few and far between but they are out there. Do a search on propane dealers in the area and call one to see if they deliver. May not be worth it for one RV, but if there was a day of the week or every two weeks it may be more feasible for them.

Many big campgrounds with large semi and permanent residents do this. We've encountered this a number of RV parks. I believe it's common in Quartzite during the yearly RV migration, too.
We spend 6-weeks in Tucson at the Lazy Days KOA. Until last year you could sign up for a Local Propane company truck to drive up to your RV on Wednesdays and give you a fill up.
KOA stopped this last year we don't know why but assume it was hurting their propane sales.

Yes I imagine the RV site owners operate their business as they see fit..they allow certain Pizza people.. RV repair specialists and RV wash services...they do a really good job tending our wants and needs but sadly do not offer the LP service...as it stands a "T" is fitted into the outlet of the tank and a 20lb gas cylinder is connected ...but then it seems like we carry the empty tank each week to be filled ..gets to be a chore...but sitting in the sun during the cold winter months from Iowa cancels out these minor irritations.....

Just added an extend a stay fitting to my MH. Wondering how long a 20 lb tank lasts. I know usage varies by furnace, stove and hot water usage, but would like to get real life experience from users out there.

Cold weather..do you have young kids..do you do home cooking..do you utilize the campground showers? all these impact the life of the LP Tank...The DW and I can make ours last for over 4 weeks..it just depends

We have a heat pump so theoretically could go for quite a while on my 13 gal tank but I have thought about replacing the diesel generator with a lighter and quieter Onan inverter but they only come in gasoline or propane presently.

The most I've ever been able to fill my 13 gal. tank with is just shy of 10 gal.

Best advise is to add a extend a stay fitting and run off the external tank and keep the onboard for emergency's. I did that with my last coach.
