Onan Gen problem

I recently had a failure of my transfer sw, after monitoring the generator power I found when a heavy load(ac) drops off the generator output HZ is 180hz+, if I put a large enough load its back to 60HZ. the onan manual says could be governor spring?? I tried adjustment screw on spring-no different, generator runs smooth, appears like not idling down to low load accuracy. anyone have similar repair success?? (2012, 5.5HGJAB-1038E)

Be very cautious ..... the high frequency AC could do significant damage to your electronics. Suggest you get it to an Onan dealer for advice/ repair.

A word to the wise... Don't try to adjust your generator power output. It's a lot more complicated than you may realize and requires specific training, knowledge and test equipment to perform. Take it to an authorized repair facility or risk doing a lot of damage to your RV electrical components or worse.
