obd2 connection location on an adventurer 38t

Any one know the location of OBD2 on a 2007 Winnebago 38t? I found a Coleman 6 Watt Solar panel on Sale. They claim that it will maintain The RV chassis battery by exposing it to direct sunlight at the windshield and plugging it in directly to the OBD2 connection. I searched high and low around base of steering column and fuse box, but no luck locating OBD yet? Any one out there try this solution for batt. maintenance?

Diesel pushers ; and I'm assuming that's what you have at 38'; don't use OBD II diagnostics.

The hook up looks like this. Grey capped item in photo; yours may be black.
It is possible to maintain chassis batteries with a solar panel ; mine is factory equipped;, but the one your looking at would require modification to hook up on your RV.

For a gas rig, by Federal Law, the OBDII connector must be located near the steering column. It is located under the dash either to the left, or right side of the steering column. The OBDII port will be within a foot of the steering column and can have a cover or be hidden behind objects that can make it hard to find.

Safe travels. JD

Mine is on a Ford chassis, but I can't see or get my hand to the connector without removing the lower part of the steering column shroud.

Picture by Tom N above is correct. The OBD II plug is just left of the steering column, and very close to edge of dash right in front of the driver's left knee. It "may" be covered by a rubber dust cap, but it IS there.

If you take a minute , and from your " User CP" go to the " Edit Signature " on the left side of the page , enter your coach info and click save at the bottom of the page. Your coach info will automatically appear below your post , as mine does below. You wont have to type in in every time , and you'll get fewer wrong answers.

I've seen little solar panels that charge through a cigarette lighter socket. Never saw one that goes into the OBD port. Live and learn.

I found the OBD2 connection, thanks for the help. I read the solar charger user manual and it says that the OBD2 connector must be "live" when the ignition is in off position in order to solar charge the chassis battery. Any one know if the connector is live all the time? How would you tell?

I think it "may" be live without the key on. I say this because when I leave my SG II connected, it will cycle on & off periodically even with the key removed.

I suppose you will know for sure if the solar panel keeps your chassis battery topped off.

Don't you already have a solar panel on the roof as OE?

Yes, but the factory solar charger is solely dedicated to the house batteries as indicated in my previous post

I've re-read each one of your posts in this thread and do not see any such info included.

But, hey, I was just trying to be helpful by asking BECAUSE my signature coach has an OE solar panel on the roof that is a trickle charger for the CHASSIS battery. Maybe WBGO did yours differently, I really don't know.
