Not again - 2017 Vista 35LX 4-dr Norcold Fridge

2017 vista 35lx. 4 door Norcold fridge. Awhile back the fridge wouldn't get cold, we blamed it on zero temp outside because after it warmed up outside it started working. Now left heater on inside RV at 40 degrees. Outside temp did get to 15 last night. I had left temp setting on fridge to the coldest setting which is 9, so I got out today open freezer and thermometer was 36 degree, but the day before its was 5 degree in freezer. Yes the green lite was on, but the odd thing was the temp setting was at 6, Whats going on ? We were planning a trip to TX on tuesday of this coming week

I’m afraid I’m not of much help, since we have a residential refrigerator. But this is at least something like this is a temporary a back up plan for your trip…

If the solution in the coils on the back side of the fridge got ice particles in it then the water separated from the ammonia and in order for it to mix again you need to shut the fridge down for several hours during warmer temps and let the solution settle down to the bottom and mix. This happened to a guy on the Airstream forum, his froze but he left it on for days hoping it would recover, not until he finally shut it off overnight with a light bulb hanging in the compartment for heat did it finally recover and begin to cool again when he restarted it the next day.

Ok, I get that, but why did temp setting move to 6 when I had it on 9 ( coldest setting ) its to drop to 17 degree tonight, guess we'll see. So you don't think leaving inside heater at 40 will help back side of fridge stay warm?

No, the back side is exposed to the outdoors. Can you put an incandescent light in there, like a drop light? If you place it at the bottom the heat will rise up thru the coils and keep things from freezing.
I don't know why the temp setting changed.
