Well, like I eluded to, it cost me nothing, as I used AMEX points, but here’s the invoice (not including the compressor which I installed year ago).

Hi Robb,

I swapped out both, so two. That’s enough for our camping style.

Main reason, not having to fill the batteries, which I couldn’t reach the back bank. And, the possible volatility of having a my compressor in the same bay.

Battle Born said with our three-stage charger (we have no solar), it was plug and play.

I like concrete too, but I can’t use AMEX points for that...

Oh, shoot, you were referring to the BT12 Carefree awning. Sorry.

Ok, the answer is about $233 bucks? Check their web site.

It depends on the accessories. I bought the full kit, Bluetooth awning control, and remotes.

The awning control is why I purchase it, all of the other niceties were a bonus.

Hooking it up is not for the faint at heart, I will tell you that.

I asked this forum for help and got no replies— guess I’m in uncharted waters...

Found the invoice. Less than I recalled. If you go there, be sure and buy it from Carefree, not Amazon. Amazon does NOT have the latest unit with the wind sensor.

How to save your wiper blades...

Tip of the day...

Want to keep your windshield wipers in good standing? Try putting some copper hot water insulation over them. They snap on and off easily, and keep the UV days and dirt away.

They also help straighten out the wipers which, after time, conform to the windshield’s curved surface, a major contributor to wiper blade “chattter”.

Instrument illumination option

Okay, this is an interesting way to be able to see information while driving, without the elaborate install of LED lights in the head instrument cowl I did in my video.

This is the only Heads-up display I found made in America, that had a manual in intelligible English.

Tried it for three months. Works well. I find I actually use it more than the instrument panel for causal glances at speed, etc...

That's neat Wyatt. Didn't know that is available.

I use an old android tablet and app that BT's to the OBD2 port that gives me several screens, MPG, Speed, and gas + any other functions that's available from that port. See my previous post if interested.

Oxygenetics Shower head install and more...

Shower stall done. Teak floor mat to disperse my weight more evenly, and so I’m not standing in soapy, slippery water. New Oxygenetics shower head, complete shut off valve at head, new handles, installed hot water backflow device in wall, and finally...an adjustable shower head bar for DW, (she’s one foot shorter than I).

Snap Pad Jack stands

Today I did the Snap Jacks install. Took some prep, as I decided to do their somewhat extraneous recommended coating of Flex Seal, before installing the pads.

Now, I’m not so sure that was necessary, as my LCI, (Lippert) jack pads are apparently powder coated. That said, I took the extra 48 hours of cure with the FlexSeal, to do the project right—so I could sleep at night—no second guessing....

Now I have yet to employ them at a campground, so, I’ll post more, should they make any appreciable difference.

So why did I spend the money? Well, to protect the jacks from employing on hard surfaces, —rocks at a campsite, or to protect an unwitting guest’s driveway, as all hard surfaces, will eventually wear down the powder coated bottom of the stands. That, and they expand the footprint of the jack, protect it from penetrating damage.

They also add 1” of lift. AND, HOPEFULLY, due to the larger footprint, a more stable and softer experience in the coach, when parked. Stay tuned...

So I followed their install instructions to the tee, except, that when protecting the shaft, when I sprayed the FlexSeal, I protected the shaft, with a 3/4” copper pipe tubing, rather than use the paper in their video—much faster and easier.

More mods du jour...

Fun filled week of projects. Today I did two. Changed out the badly yellowed awning end caps for shiny black ones, and added a switch that defeats the step from going in and out when closing the screen door when parked, and charging the starter battery—same idea as defeating the jacks down warning chime. Peace and quiet while parked and charging.

Trico Wiper Blade Replacement

It’s that time of year, gotta replace the wipers, again...

Last set, one flew off after only three months. Replaced it with these guys, Much more robust design. Note the spring loaded arms for better contact with the windshield. The OEM and the ones I replaced them with initially did not have that. The image on Amazon, doesn’t show the spring loaded arms, so I took a photo of them installed.

Are you going to put those fans in place of the existing ones? Be prepared. I put the same one in the hall/bath area and found that the black tank vent on the roof prevents the lid from closing. I had to MacGyver it. Let me know if you run into the same problem and I'll share my fix.

Yes, KNAEG, said he did it too, but didn’t mention any issues. I’d like to be prepared, what’s your workaround? Thanks!

Well, not my best work-around effort, but it works.
My new fan lid was held up about an inch from closing because of the vent pipe cap. I removed the vent cap and put a 90* elbow in its place. Then a piece of straight pipe rearward, then another 90* pointing up, with one of those turbo vent thingys on top.
I wanted to get the vent away from the new fan, because I wanted to be able to draw air in like a ceiling fan...without pulling stink out of the vent pipe right next to it.

I didn't have any problems but I didn't do the rain bonnet. Then again also is our couches identical?

Yeah, it’s the extended lid that hits the cap. It’s so close! Maybe Wyatt will luck out!
