Maxxair 7500 fan install
So, the madness is coming to a close . 15 months of mods, and this was my final big ticket project. Two Maxxair 7500 fans installed. I love the ten speeds, they’re so quite now, and the skylight look from inside with the smoke lens lid. They can reverse, and you can use one to draw air in, while the other expels it, creating a nice flow through the cabin, or any variation thereof. You can even run them closed, just to circulate the inside air. And, they work open or closed in the rain. The remote controls are nice too, one is mounted in the bedroom next to the bed, amd the other on the hallway next to all of the controls. If it weren’t for the sewer cap hitting the very edge of the front fan closed at the rear, this would have been an easy project.
A big thank you to YGOHOME K9NEG for helping me walk through my options.
I ended up with a fix, that I’m hoping will work, the lid of the fan cover just barley hit the sewer cap, so I ended up removing the OEM sewer cap, and cutting down the sewer pipe, and inserted a pipe on the inside, rather than the outside of the sewer vent pipe. That gave me just the clearance I needed without having to replace the entire cap contraption. Then, an elbow and a small extender with a screen I built into it, to keep any insects from getting in or making a nest in there.
I’m confident this will work, but the test of time will tell.
And while I was up there, I cleaned off the front cap seal, and used Flex Seal rubber roof material to which I painted over the seam. Seems as though, as the sun degrades the Dicor self leveling stuff, it brings white streaks down the front windshield and and side windows. I HATED that. Only thing that would easily remove it off of the windshield, was rubbing alcohol, and we all how hard it is to come by that stuff nowadays....

oK i'M thinking that should work ok. it just has to be a simple vent. Even if water gets into it; not a problem.
I m curious what my MaxAir is lacking with the model I purchased? I didn't have to modify the vent, but what is the difference?

I think there are several differences. One pain in the arse, is that the MAXXAIR 7500 doesn’t exactly “fit”, without modifications to the sewer vent (in our Intent model).
That said, I was willing to tackle that to gain the benefits. So this fan operates similar to the stock fan, in that it can always be open—rain or shine.
But besides that, it can operate in a fully closed position to circulate air in the cabin, again, rain or shine.
I don’t know about the CFM between the several models, so I didn’t compare that here.
Hey, anything was better than the OEM cheap fan they outfitted this with...

Last set, one flew off after only three months. Replaced it with these guys, Much more robust design. Note the spring loaded arms for better contact with the windshield. The OEM and the ones I replaced them with initially did not have that. The image on Amazon, doesn’t show the spring loaded arms, so I took a photo of them installed.

Regarding your wiper blades...I purchased these on May 7th this year and they were as pictured, single beam, not like yours, and one flew off! I found better replacements at a local RV shop, but I’d prefer to have some like yours with the extra tension. They’re so long that the passenger end doesn’t do much.

Funny, (NOT), I had another brand (single beam) fly off too.
Here’s the direct link to the ones with the tension springs.

Thanks Wyatt. I need new blades also. Mine didn't fly off, but the blade wipers had too much sun.

Pump House Heater
Get’n colder...
Since theSane’s water baffle froze, I decided to take some proactive action and installed a small portable 500 W heater in the pump house and connected it to an aquarium style thermostat so that I can have it automatically turn on if it reaches 35° in the pump house and will always keep it above that number within 1°.
I ran the wires back through the side wall up to the outside kitchen TV receptacle so that it can run off the inverter for Boondocking as well.
The arrow in the photo is the probe that controls the thermostatically controlled socket.
I’m also in the process of wrapping all the tubes in the pump house bay with insulated copper piping tubing.
Wish me well. This literally took me 10 minutes of preventative medicine...

That looks very nice. I will be doing something similar here soon. Will update the Tina thread when done.
Still need to find that 1" -> 1" adapter to cap off the manifold. Same threads on both sides. Home plumbing supply stores and big box stores do not have it, will try motorhome repair shops next.

OK I wanted to update everyone on those wiper blades from the etrailer because they don’t fit correctly either. I’m working on a workaround and I’ll let you know if it comes to fruition but for now don’t buy what I recommended above until I figure out how to secure them correctly. They’re much better blades but the J hook is too short for their adapter.

26m bathroom accordion door replacement
This is one of the first things I wanted to do to the RV, but it’s taken me nearly a year and a half to find the exact right fit. I like to sleep in and there was way too much light coming through the bathroom shower skylight in our 26M through and that fabric accordion door. So if you have a 26M intent this is a plug and play option using the existing track in the ceiling and works perfectly.
It’s a solid vinyl accordion door, that lets no light in, to speak of.
Install time, 45 minutes from unboxing to completion.

Dryer to RV conversion plug
Summer will be here before I know it and I’m planning on visiting some family, providing it’s safe to do so.
Summer means I’m going to want air conditioning, so I fashioned a dryer plug that will work for our RV, so I can plug into a three or four prong 220v dryer outlet at their homes, while in their driveway.
Easy enough, just removed one leg of the 220v, and added and RV specific connector.

Love the ingenuity.
We found it easier to install an RV outlet just off our family member's breaker box. Did it at two of my siblings homes, and my parent's house.

Thin Shade vs. Slim Shade--Mystery Solved
Pretty excited about this. Replaced the translucent entry door window with a smoked clear window that has a shade built into it. What a difference!
I installed the inner frame upside down so that we can bring the shade up from the bottom, instead of down from the top, so that we can see over it rather than under.
Took 35 minutes and cost ~$80.00.

This is not an install video--but there's a link also on the video site if you want to see Lippert techs installing it. This video is to help people figure out which one is right for them, as there are two similar named products that install very differently.

Did any of you install these and found that the Ends do not touch the window. Both mine do not touch the window on their Passenger side side.
