New 2010 Tour or 2011 Journey ?

I have been looking at a New 2010 Tour 40BD and a 2011 Journey40U.
Both are new and never used.
the 2010 Tour has :
400 HP Cummings
IDFS
Basement AC
Maxum chassis
both have the extend a couch

The Journey has the Maxum Chassis and 360 HP Cummings
and 3 roof AC's
Both are equipped about the same as well as the price.

Any suggestions ?

I would lean toward the Journey 40U for its floor plan. The living room layout is very similar the the Tour 42QD. The one long couch of the Tour 40BD doesn't seem quite adequate compared to the 40U with the chair and front seats being part of the living room. You'd be giving up 40 hp, but gaining a third air conditioner.

As others have stated: buy the one the wife likes.

If one floor plan over the other really seems better, choose that one. If either floor plan is fine, other things to consider:

.the cabinet face plates on most Journey's are vinyl-covered wood vs. solid wood in the Tour (maybe that is not true with these newer models but something you might want to check).

.the Tour is Winnebago's top of the line coach now and it will usually have features not on the Journey. The bigger engine is one (the torque difference is more important than HP so check the torgue differences on those engines). Torgue in a diesel is what gets you up that mountain.

.basement AC/heat pump vs. roof AC's. While I like my basement AC/heat pump, it will not be as easy to access and service as roof units. The basement unit takes up storage space. The roof AC's add weight to the roof but, if one of the AC fails, you still have two others to keep you cool. If my basement AC fails, I will be cookin'.

In the end, either are nice rigs. Good luck and let us know which you choose.

We are looking at this 2011 Journey ,it has one of the new color schemes .
I thought it was a little too loud at first... but I like it now.

Any thoughts? opinions?

I was looking at both last year and ended up with the tour 40cd, glad I went with that one. The 11 may have the urea tank on it the 10 wont.being its a 10 you should be able to get it for a good price, 80,000 off or so. that was the deciding factor for me the price they came down to.

Tour vs Journey, isn't that kind of like comparing Cadillac vs Chevrolet? I currently have a 2004 Meridian and I'd definitely take the Tour over the Journey, assuming the floor plan of the Tour was acceptable.

My only concern would be the basement AC. Sounds like you cannot get replacement parts when it breaks ?
