Cool Mudflaps?

Anyone know why 2016 Sunova 33c doesn't have rear mudflaps. Won't be easy to fab and mount brackets now with tires in the way. Looks like other models just have the fronts also.

2015 Vista 27N does not have flaps behind the rear wheels, either. I put a Ultra Guard flap across the entire back of the RV. Be sure to trim it so that the bottom of the flap is 4" to 5" above the ground when on level pavement, or it will throw up rocks and sand on your toad. On my Vista, I had to trim it all the way up to the bottom of the reflectors.

My 2010 didn't have any either. I used 2' x 3' mudflaps that are used for semis. Got them at a truck stop. On the driver's side I attached them at the top of the flap to the outrigger with screws and had the top of the flap butting up against the floor of the MH. On the passenger's side I slid the flap up between the outrigger and the storage compartment wall and screwed it to the compartment wall. Again the top of the flap was butted up against the floor of the MH.

I didn't remove the tires but it helps to raise the MH up with the leveling jacks. Still takes a bit of contortions to get it done. The driver's side was harder to do than the passenger side as I recall. I didn't add any bracing but just let them hang down and somewhat backed up by the outrigger or compartment wall. I did do a little trimming around the springs, etc.

To further reduce sailing, I added the stainless steel trim (also for looks). Got the SS trim at the same truck stop in their mudflap accessories area.

Thanks for the pictures - will probably do the same. Was your w/h in the compartment on pass side where you attached it - don't want to hit something in there but need to keep the rocks off the jeep. We were in Altoona last spring, camped at a lake near there. BMcD

My compartment, the one right behind the wheels on the passenger side, has 1-1/2 inches of styrofoam on the inside of the wall that is next to the wheels. Thus the screw ends were protected by the styrofoam. On my year of MH that compartment has the water pump and fresh water tank in it, but not the water heater. In the picture you can see the styrofoam on the right hand side of the compartment.

I think that in your year they made some changes to that compartment as yours has the water pump on the driver's side. I agree, I'd be very careful about attaching the mudflap to the compartment wall on the passenger's side.

Not sure what lake you camped at near Altoona, IA but there is Saylorville Lake (a Corps lake) not far away. Has some pretty nice RV campgrounds.
