I read what the height of the "Standard" Itasca Sightseer is but I have a "Dome Satellite Dish" on my roof so I am wondering if that adds some additional height since I don't believe they are an option. The brochure say 12' 2". Anyone measured theirs with a "Dome Satellite Dish"?

I wouldn't trust anyone other than my own measurements on this one. I personally ran a tape on mine and generated a label on the dash stating minimum height clearance.

Like Jeff said - the only way to know for sure is to measure your rig. I know we are an inch or two under 12' 6" and we have a King Dome (and Datastorm dish). Our measurement has nothing to do with yours though.

I made two measurements on my rig, one from the edge of the roof line, and one form the high point of the rig, which was the top of my lowered satelite dish. I believe the edge of the roof was 11'6", and the dish was 12'2". Make sure your airbags are fully inflated befire you measure (if you have them).
I put both measurments on the edges of the the 7" screen that displays my forward looking color camera. Now I can easier judge those overhanging branches in the campgrounds........

OK, makes sense. I will measure this weekend at the front where the Dome is. Your ideas for noting it and placing it on the dash is an excellent idea as my memory is not to be trusted anymore.
Thanks -- Frank

You might also want to convert it to metric and note that as well, in case you're driving in Canada. You'd hate to have to do the calculation in your head at the last moment.

The first Canadian bridge we went under had my brain in meltdown trying to convert 12'6" to Meterlitercubits

Well let's just say that my King Dome didn't completely clear a "No Trucks Allowed" overhead bumper at a Walmart in Jackson, TN . I thought 12'4" was enough but I got away with only a scuff and some yellow paint on the dome.... ..pretty dumb on my part.

Do you all typically add on a little to your minimum height for an extra safety buffer? If so, by how much is reasonable and not overkill? If it's a close call, I'm sure I'll be the paranoid type.
