Magnadyne Radio Install Issue

I'm in the process of replacing the original radio in my 2003 Itasca Sunflyer with the Magnadyne M 9920. When fitting the new radio cage into the trim that covers the space between the different DIN sizes, I noted that the only tabs that you can bend down to lock the cage are the ones on the bottom. The side tabs are not positioned where in can grab the dash. Would like to make the trim and cage fit a bit tighter than just the two bottom tabs. Magnadyne customer service had no workaround. Any suggestions?
