Looking to buy 36Z or 35U

I’m looking to purchase a 2022 Adventurer 36Z or Vista 35U - I wanted a Class A on a larger chassis (22.5” wheels) with a king bed. That’s what led me to these two models. I live in Alaska and will not have a chance to look at both of them before I place my order. I’m hoping some folks on here who are familiar with both models can give me some pros and cons so I can try to make a better informed decision.

My camping will be a mix of RV parks and boondocking - I will be adding/upgrading batteries and solar to either model.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Quite a bit more living space in the 36z with the full wall slide. We had been looking for a SIghtseer 36z - same floorplan as the Adventurer 36z. Sightseer is no longer in production.

Phil-T - how do you like your 36Z? Any issues with the full wall slide?

I have only had our 36z for a month - no issues at all and we did a lot of testing before purchase,

The 35U is a great floor plan. My 2002 is pretty much the same but with a queen bed.

The 35U and 36Z have the same living room slide, which isn't what I'd call a full wall slide. In any case, it's not so big as to be problematical.

In looking at the floor plans, both slides on the 36Z are on the same side which can be an advantage in tight campsites. Conversely it puts more weight on one side of the MH. Presumably, Winnebago has taken this into account and balanced things out with tank placement, etc.

I suggest you carefully compare the specs, especially in terms of the various weights, carrying capacity, etc.

The 36z has 3 slides - opposing up front, and one in the bedroom; for a spacious living room and kitchen/dining. The 35u has 2. The 36z has a master suite and the living space is oriented for convenient TV viewing. It's all about preferences and use. We are living in our 36z, so want a lot of comfort and convenience. The 36z can also be had with a powered loft bed over the front seats.

My bad, how did I miss the third slide. It was either tunnel vision or too early in the morning. I stand corrected.

I don't know what the specs are for either model in terms of appliances, but, if you're considering boondocking, an all-electric MH will prove to be problematical. Personally, I'd want an LPG stove and a LPG/120V refrigerator. If the LPG/120V refrigerator isn't available on either model, hopefully a 12V DC/120V AC refrigerator is.

Others may disagree, but I don't want to be running my generator for extended periods of time while boondocking. There are so many great boondocking opportunities in AK, I wouldn't want to limit myself.

I don't know what Winnebago charges for solar but I'd install my own panels.
