So the temperature rose to 70 in Hilton Head today so I got my courage up to remove the plastic that covers the screws. You have to be very patient and careful at the beginning but once started it peels off very easily. Here is what I found. The 5 screws at the bottom were just sitting in the holes I could pull them out with my fingers. I decided to see if I could tighten them and to my surprise all 5 tighten. I even used my 90 degree Phillip’s head screw driver so I could put more torque on the screws. All of them tightened. So not sure if Winnebago ever tightened the screws. About 6 inches above those 5 screws was another screw that was broken must have happen during install. I attempted to put a new screw in but it would not go in so will need to drill out the screw that is left. Once settled in Florida will be checking all the screws on this slide front and back.
Does anyone have information of the slide locks Winnebago used for these slides? I am interested in purchasing a set. Also where on the slide do you put the lock.

More Schwintek Problems

I've got the slim rack system on my full wall slide. Just had a motor go out with it in the full extend position. I pulled the motor because it looks like you have to do that anyhow to get the slide back in. Connecting 12 VDC directly to the motor connection doesn't cause the motor to operate so I'm now waiting to hear back from Lippert on how they want to get me a new motor. This seems too early for me to be having these types of failures, not even 2.5 years old.

As an update, Lippert requested information on the motor, vin, original purchase and they ended up sending me a replacement motor which I did appreciate since I was out of warranty. The replacement process was a little tight on space and time consuming but now that I've done it once, the next time should be quicker if it comes to that.

1. How do you know if you have a motor failure? 2. The motors are a stepper design and will not operate like a typical DC motor. Do you have any track gear teeth damage. Iv had the slides in my 2014 Winnebago Sightseer 30' fail twice while fully extended. The tracks failed while the motors and gear head were uneffected. Lee

I removed the motor and applied 12vdc to the motor directly and it simply clicked. You have to remove both motors just to move the slide in. The new motor rotated properly when 12vdc was applied. There was no other damage that I could see and the assembly works properly now with the new motor.
