Tony, two things.

We really need you to include the year, model name and floorplan in your posts asking for help. Winnebago makes hundreds of thousands of RVs from small to large and they are all different, with different systems.

Second, guessing, and it’s just a guess since we have no clue what RV you have, it could likely be that your hydraulic fluid is low in the reservoir. That will make the “jacks down” warning sound off on bumps, turns and hard breaking.

Please help us help you with the info I mentioned above.

As mentioned, The alarm on some is not really a jacks down sensor but as the jacks extend the fluid in the tank goes down. The alarm is more what I would call a low level fluid alarm. Checking the same thing but less actual info for the user?

When storing the jacks, do not shut the panel for 2-3 minutes after the travel light turns on, this gives the oil time to equalize in the closed system and relieve any residual pressure on the leveling jacks..
The owners manual says to let the system time-out, but that's 20 minutes and I don't want to sit there that long.
The hyd. reservoir is only filled when the leveling jacks are retracted. There is a dipstick inside the reservoir cap.

Ray,
That certainly may be the instructions in your 2000 Ultimate Freedom, however it is not a current instruction in more recent motorhomes.

Also the “dipstick” is still there but now it is usually a separate item and not part of the filler cap in newer PowerGear and Lippert leveling systems.

A great many RV systems have been through a number of changes in the past 25 years of Winnebago history.

I own a 2019 Vista 31BE. Whenever I have encountered this issue, the fluid in the reservoir is low. Topping off the fluid fixes the problem.

My HWH jacks did the same thing. After I verified all Jacks were retracted, the immediate fix to eliminate the beeping was to pull the fuse and reinsert it for leveling. We stopped by the HWH facility in Iowa and after several attempts to fix it, they finally replaced the whole jack at the drivers rear position with a rebuilt one for a very fair price. I always let my system shut itself down as I am doing other things like running the slides in disconnect stuff outside. My rec is let it shut itself off thus giving the fluid time to settle.

When I go over a pothole or very rough road surface occassionally my levelor lights up. I learned to just push the Retract button and the beeps and lights go away. Something about hitting a rough spot triggers the alarm. This happens very seldom.

I agree with that the fluid may be low when the light comes on and you "know" that the jacks are retracted. Mine had the same issue. Filled up the reservoir and found out that I had a leaky line that had to be replaced.

Your Operator's Manual will tell you what to use - use what they tell you. Not all fluids are the same, so use what your manual says.

Since I have a 2017 Adventurer you might use what I use. Which is Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) available just about everywhere. I use Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle Full Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (atf) 1 QT from Walmart.

Here's what your operator's manual says:

Quote:
Hydraulic Fluid Recommendation
The leveling system is filled from the factory
with AW-22S synthetic hydraulic oil that has
been specially formulated for use in the leveling
system and that is compatible with Automatic
Transmission Fluid (ATF).
DO NOT USE brake fluid or hydraulic jack
oil, which can damage the seals and cause leaks.
Here's the page in your manual:

Just had this happen yesterday on a long drive. It was after around 5 hours of driving. Stopped the engine when boxed in by a road accident and it started beeping soon after I restarted the RV.

The fix was to pull over, put it in N, set the air brakes, leave the engine running, turn the jack panel on, and press 'Retract'. The panel showed the drivers side rear jack was down a bit though I doubt that. Anyway, waited until that jacks light went out, and drove another hour without issue. So I agree with the above comment that you should be patient when retracting and wait a couple minutes after the lights go out before shutting off the system.

Winnebago does not write instructions for HWH, I did not address any other brand leveling system.
Since TonyLat had never ID'ed his leveling system I has to assume it was HWH.-ya, I know.
