Leveling jack sagging

Hi all,

We recently purchased a 2008 Winnebago Destination. It only had ~9K miles on it, and all systems seem to be working ok after a few tweaks. The Kwikee autoleveling system failed for the previous owner and he had it largely replaced with a manual switch system that allows you to raise/lower the jacks manually. Electrically, it all seems to function ok.

But, my passenger-side rear jack does not provide much lift. When I extend it, it will properly extend, touch the ground and lift the RV a bit, but it will eventually stop lifting. When I turn off the valve to control it, the piston will retract 1/2" or so. It appears that it cannot hold pressure. All other jacks work fine and can lift the wheels off the ground.

My guess is that the valve is leaking, but I wanted to reach out and see if this is a common problem that others have encountered.

Thanks!

Geoff

Bad lifter cylinder

I'll answer my own question here, as others may encounter this issue. It looks like my right rear lifter cylinder is leaking internally. Winnebago has a replacement cylinder for $2000, but I was able to find the original manufacture of the Kwikee hydraulics (make the valve and cylinders), and they refurbish the cylinders for $385. I removed my cylinder and am boxing it up today. They say its a relatively quick 3-day turn around to get it repaired.

Here's who rebuilds the Kwikee cylinders:
