I looked it up and see you have a 2005 Journey but are you asking about front or back signal lights.

It takes long skinny arms. Wait till you change the headlight lamps

Those bulbs are difficult to get to without removing the entire headlight assembly. The turn signals are the outer third of the assembly. The standard driving lights are the center third and the high beams are the inner third. Removing the bulb for the standard lamp does require removal of the assembly. There is a support directly behind the assembly that prevents the bulb from being pulled back far enough to remove it. You can rotate it to unlock it from the assembly, but it won't go back far enough due to that support, for the socket and bulb to clear the headlamp assembly. I assume the turn signal will have the same obstruction issue as the standard and hi beam lamps. That headlamp is held in place by 4 fasteners. Two on each side that hold it to the mounting brackets. The inner two are accessed from the "hood" area and the outer two are accessed from in front of the tires. It's a difficult task, both tedious and time consuming.

It actually doesn't but there is a VERY specific way to take it out. I stumbled on it by accident and thank goodness I was paying attention to how it almost literally fell out after trying for what seemed like forever. Whoever designed that should be congratulated right after they get a square-on face punch.

I've replaced both sides and it's no fun regardless

Can you describe the procedure you used to remove the bulb?
