corba, We purchased our 04 Meridian in 2010 with a Cat engine. We have traveled 50k miles from Key West to Fairbanks and San Diego to Montreal Canada, 47 States and 5 Provinces. We will be starting our next trip in May to PEI, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador for 4 months. Have enjoyed the Meridian greatly. It has not been with out one major problem. Our HUEI pump (a fuel pressurization pump) failed in Homer, AK. A Major repair but Coach-Net found a competent repair shop. From this experience I learned that it is important to change your engine oil frequently. HUEI pumps do not like dirty oil. I now change my oil every 5K. Just some personal thoughts.
Safe travels and THE JOY IS IN THE RIDE

We have had ours for two years and have put on 10K so far. We like it. Made some upgrades when I got it. Shocks, leveler springs, tires, safety steer, TV's, and all fluids.

Welcome to the Journey Club. We have the same model and love it. We've upgraded shocks which made a huge difference. It came with Saf-t-Plus steering control and recommend it. Changed out gold cabinet handles for brushed nickle, there are a lot of handles!! Also had some paint work on the outside to modernize it some.

Sticking sliding door
We have a 2016 Journey model 40R with a curved sliding door between bedroom and living area. It is often difficult to open and close, especially to open, leaving my wife trapped in rear of coach!
Anyone else have this problem? How to deal with difficult to open door? (yes, coach is levelled)

Congrats, you should be very happy with it. RV735 is correct about the HUEI pump, it is very finicky. Yours being an 03, you may have the 3126 CAT which is before the HUEI pump introduction, mostly in 04. I hope that is the case, then you won't have any fuel issues as long as you change your filters regularly. I too, change my oil every 5K mi and sometimes more often depending on our travels and length of them. I can change my own oil for about $80 for materials and the process is the least difficult compared to my other vehicles. Good luck and enjoy!

So the answer is yes you can if you have the mechanical ability. You do recognize that they may not satisfy the technical requirements the government imposes and of course they aren't "approved" by the feds. As we've been told you can only have "official" seat belts in locations that you have crash tested per government requirements. So can you and will they be adequate? You have to make that judgement.
Make sense?

Journey 40R
We are very excited to start our new "Journey!" We have owned a class a diesel before, but not like this. Looking for advice on full timing and other advice that would be helpful. We have been campers for 10+ years, owning pop up, travel trailer, fifth wheels and a Beaver Monterey coach. We are in the process to full time within the next year.
Thank you in advance😊
Happy camping 🌅
