Cool Joined the Club New to me Itasca Meridian 04 DP

Hi All:

Well I bit the bullet and purchased a used Itasca Meridian 36G with 21K on the meter.

The coach looks in really good shape. But I am a newbe, and have no close friends that RV.

So I am sure to make all the new guy mistakes and probably write a few new chapters to Robin Williams movie RV.

Any and all help appreciated.

Regards... Jim P. from Allentown PA.

Congrats Jim on the new coach. The Journey/Meridian is a great DP and a good value. We also have the 36G floorplan and love it. Many of us here love to tinker and have made upgrades and repairs. You will find a lot of great info on this forum.

Wishing you many fun RV miles and come back often with questions and to share your experiences.

Hi and welcome to a great way to spend your time....RVing!
I suggest you contact your local WIT chapter and join. Don't wait like we did and be on your 3rd Winnebago before we joined in 2001. It's the best way to enjoy your RV experience and meet some great people. Being a member of a club will be of great help to you since some of these folks have years of RVing under their belts and can answer many of your questions.

Red face Thanks for the Welcome

Hi:

Thanks for the welcome. Who is my contact to join WIT in the Allentown, PA area? I would like to call and join.

I will be headed up to Harolds RV probably next weekend for my Blue Ox tow bar and Jeep tow bracket. They are haveing a 10% off sale.

I bought my RV from a gent in VA. It was a struggle buying and going back and fourth, then tranfering tags from VA to PA.

Then the biggest thing I ever drove was a SUV... I had to drive 375 miles home, on I-95 around Washington, but I made it safe and sound.

I had to drive the coach to the Notary because I could not get a raised pencil marking. It was just one thing after the other.

But so far I am good to go..

REgards.. Jim P.

First you must become a member of WIT to join a state chapter. I believe the local chapter in your area would be the Capitol Area Winnies and the person listed as contact is Russel LaForce at 717 567-3612. If not he would be able to direct you to the correct chapter. Since you bought from a private owner you probably have not been given the info to join WIT and you can contact them directly at Winnebago. As a newbie joining a club and camping with fellow RVers is a big plus. If you have questions or concerns about anything on your rig chances are someone in the club will have the answer or be able to help you find it. Good luck and please come back to VA for the state rally is Sept. 17 - 19. Our theme is 2010 RV Space Odyssey and it will be in Virginia Beach. Hope to see you there.

Welcome and congratulations. Let me second what has already been said about joining a local W.I.T. chapter. It helped me tremendously climb the learning curve. You can also register at winnebagoind.com as a 'second' owner. Enjoy and you will soon discover there is not a problem or dilemma that someone else hasn't already experienced and solved.

We love our 36G and can't wait to get it out of winter storage. There is a lot of good information on this website. This summer we'll be on our fifth season and we'll turn over 50k miles. My biggest concern is always where to you park this thing? A little mission planning goes along way.
