We have lived in our MH for two seasons in Reno and not had a lot of trouble with the cold. RV's by their nature are not made for extreme temps either hot or cold. Our Ellipse is a few years old and does not have a fireplace or propane heaters. The heat pump is useless for temps under 45 degrees, however the AquaHot does a good job down into the low 20's lower then 20 you need help from an electric heater. I did meet one RVer who had a gas heater plumbed to his propane tank which worked great.
One week the temp was down to +4 during the day and -4 at night. That was to cold for us to live in as the most we could get the inside temp to was maybe 40. My wife and I fled into the casino hotel for the week. I kept the AquaHot running while we were gone and the only damage was the water in the water filter froze and broke the water filter off. A quick and easy repair in sub freezing temps working with water
not!
My next coach will have in floor heating
that cold tile sucks.
