Jon,

I am in the process of installing my EC-30 in our Journey 34H, and I have chosen to mount the unit in the bathroom, 90degrees around the corner of the One Place unit. Opened it up today and I have full access to this spot without having to move any switches as have been done in this post for other coaches.

I will let everone know how the install goes.

Stay tuned!

This is a great thread, the information is extremely valuable. I am wondering if anyone can comment on: Price/Availability... what is the street price for an EC30

Thanks,

~Dave

Dave,

Mine cost $299 in July 2005, ordered thru an Onan Service Center in Las Vegas & delivered to my house.

Not sure of availability, but haven't heard of any problems in folks getting them.

I got mine from the factory - Onan Cummins Indiana. If you search on these 3 key words you will find their info.

I'm pretty sure it was $250 for the EC-30 and another $20 or so for the wiring pigtail.

Mine is fully installed and works great (reference this post).

Getting ready to install an EC30 in the Suncruiser. My question is where have people connected the "#16 Safety input Positive ---Connected to ignition switch at the dash" wire.

A picture would also be Great!!!

Thanks,

Ron,
If I remember correctly I found a wire at the battery solenoids that was hot with ign. on and not with it off. This worked for me because I had to run other wires to that area anyway like the shore power sensor which I picked up in the transfer switch.

Also I used the second A/C connection for heat so I can have auto start for either cooling or heating.

We do some early spring and late fall camping, so I would be interested in which wire you connected the 2nd A/C wire to for the heat pump.

After posting this, I remember I had to connect my US Gear bracking system to 12vDC controlled by the ignition switch. I think I will tap into that wire.

Good Day,
Have identified all my connections, but have a few questions:
How did you all run the ignition safety wire from the One Panel to the front of the coach.
Has anyone jumpered wires 1 & 3 per DriVers posting?

If you have photos of your install, I would like to see them to compare how I am doing my install.

Will take some pictures as I go along and post them.

Thanks,
